Quick question for the OKW pros (:) ): we spent this past week at OKW and really enjoyed it. There was a sales flyer in our check-in folder about buying OKW direct from Disney. They also did a sales presentation on T&TH mornings but we could not make it.

Can anyone tell me the details for buying OKW direct from Disney? What is the point price? Do you get the 2057 expiration?

Thanks for the help!!

PS - we are already members with homes at SSR and HHI so this would be a potential add-on purchase.

The price for OKW from Disney just went up from $96 to $101 per point. The contracts are good until 2057 (just like AKV).

I think the incentives only apply to SSR and AKV.

They have some small incentives for HHI and VB right now (minimum 50 points purchase).

What are those incentives? Friends of ours own at BWV and VB and keep praising VB and the aspect of being on the coast. We enjoy going to the beach, but aren't sure if we'd really want to own at VB.

Be aware that VB has the highest annual dues ($6.04 versus $4.21 at SSR).

DVC is selling VB at $87 per point if you buy at a minimum of 50 points.

Thanks. I had seen the dues amount previously, but not the incentive. We know we want to get GCV when it becomes available, and at least one other. VB is an option for us, since we go to the coast anyway, but we're considering multiple options. Thanks for the info!

I was told that the high maintance fees for VB is because it is in the path of hurricanes where the ones right in WDW are not affected as much. It has to do with the insurance premiums on each resort. Dan't quote me on this but it is how I understood it.

Well - that can be one factor in the high VB dues. Another, however, is that they built the infrastructure for many more units than they actually built. The intent had been to have at least one more building on the shore side and to have many more villas on the inland side. The Inn was built with spaces to accommodate more people dining, more activity at the front desk, more room in the lobby, etc. The cost for the excess infrastructure is embedded in the dues costs somehow and are another reason the VB dues are higher.
