Is is Delta that changes flight times a lot?

I finally found a drop in airfare for November from Tucson to Orlando but its Delta. I thought I had heard that they are always changing flight times and that it's a total nightmare! Any advice on this before I book it?

Thanks,
Kelly

I think all airlines do it. But Delta did just change our flight from Birmingham, AL to Orlando. It was good for us, though, because now we get to WDW an hour earlier.

I bought our tickets for Dec from Delta in February. They have changed my flights twice, both have been minor changes with our departure from Reno moved up 1/2 hour and Departure from MCO changed by a few minutes.

If the fares are good I would go for it!

Delta did it a lot this past year, when they decommissioned Song and merged it back into Delta. However, you can expect it from all the airlines, assuming they even allow you to book flights 11 months before the flight.

We've used USAir many times and had most of our flights changed at least once. Used Delta three times and only had our upcoming March '07 return flight changed. They all do it, keep monitoring your flights as all airlines sometimes are slow in informing you. I got our Delta flight changed back to a more agreeable time at no charge.

Delta has changed my flights 3 times but each time when they changed to long layovers they changed to something usable when I called. Now I have better flights than we first booked.

I think a total nightmare is quite an overstatement...an inconvenience, yes, but nothing that can't be settled with monitoring flights and a phone call if they do change.

All airlines will change flights - especially if you book your tickets far in advance. Delta's also been going through restructuring and consolidating flights at certain airports, etc. so changes SHOULD be expected. If these changes did not occur, there might be one less airline to choose from.

We always use our frequent flier miles for leisure travel and have not had a problem at all. In January our schedules were changed coming back from Orlando, but we knew about it and fixed it in advance with a call to the Delta office.

If the price is right, you should go for it!

I agree. What is such a big deal about a flight time change? Being an adult means that you learn to "go with the flow" and plan for all eventualities. If you consider such a small problem a nightmare, you must have the greatest life ever.

Yep, me too. I ended up with the best flights that were and still are the most expensive because I called and asked for them when the schedules changed.
