Is House of Blues really that bad?

We ate at the one in Disneyland - using a Restaurant.com gift certificate. We weren't blown away by the food, but it was okay. We had a large group and one of the bigger value certificates - by the time we added all of our tip and taxes in - it was still almost $100 tab. BUT - that was for 6 people and that is a great value for 6 people at Disney anywhere.

I had the strip and it was cooked perfectly, but it was COATED in seasoning and over the top salty. I don't even remember what everyone else had - no one complained, but no one raved either.

We eat there every 2 or 3 years and always enjoy our meals. The one DD restaurant that we eat at on every trip since it opened is Raglan Road.

Their club sandwich and bread pudding are the best

I so agree!! :lovestruc We ate at the one in Myrtle Beach last weekend (using a restaurant.com gift certificate) and got the bread pudding. So good! I wish I had ordered one as my meal too! :laughing:And I'm not even crazy about bread pudding, I think the one at Ohana's is ok, but this one is awesome!

We have also ate there our last few visits. Great time to hit the strip and walk around. There food is great for the $ and the menu is great for all. No less the current cupon $50 for $6 on restaurant.com make that even better. WE normally spend $100 there on dinner for 4 anyhow so that cupon was perfect.

I didn't even know HOB had a reputation for being bad! We tried the restaurant and the restaurant.com cert last trip and were very pleased. We ordered one again for our next trip. The restaurant was not that crowded, ordered a pretty big variety on its menu (unlike many other Disney restaurants which are pretty limited), the prices were really very good for Disney. The atmosphere was good, location okay, although we are more Disney Marketplace people, but still it was nice to stroll around. I think we had ressies, but it wasn't all that crowded. I think what you would need to watch for is when Cirque gets out then it could be crowded. Ressies also can't hurt....good luck!

My family loves House of Blues! We used the restaurant.com certificate in October and had a great meal. We really enjoyed the steak, mushroom and chicken pasta and the ribs.

HOB is decent, Ive been there before concerts, never had anything bad. (Best price for Long Island Iced Teas on property. This helps.)

went for lunch april 2010. my sister had a ham and boursin cheese sandwich and loved it. i on the other hand got food poisoning from a turkey club...so no not my favorite place.

Have gone to the one in Atlantic City and it was pretty good, but we went to DTD in November and was not happy at all. The server was awful and had such a bad attitude. Food was pretty bad, could have just been that day, but overall a very disappointing experience.

We do the gospel brunch every year as well, but unfortunately, the restaurants.com gift certificates are not valid for the brunch.

Doing the gospel brunch this May. Is there anything we need to know about getting the "best" seats possible?? :rotfl:

We ate there last year and really enjoyed it...thinking of eating there again in May. We used the coupon--has anyone tried to use it for a Sunday brunch? I know it is not good for holiday brunches.

I have been told by HOB that it is not good for the Gospel Brunch.

I'm seeing $50 for $20...anyone else getting the $6 deal? I'm not too familiar with restaurant.com but plan to take some steak eaters to HOB at DTD in 2 weeks - do the cert would really help cut costs! Do I have enough time to order the certs? Are they mailed or emailed or downloadable? Any info would be appreciated - thanks!

Oh also - is HOB ok for kids? DSs are 10 & 13 and we'd be going around 5 on a Friday - is it crazy with Happy Hour people?

I think they have the tables already reserved by the time you get there. Every time we have been we have had seats on the floor that were great! From the looks of it though, I don't think there's really a "bad" seat. We always go with 7 or 8 people so we always get a table to ourselves. Have Fun!

The certificates are down loaded, you print them out at home. You can only use one per visit, one per table. We had a good time. It would be ok for kids too.

We ate there last week ~ 3 adults.

DS and I had the pizza for an appetizer ~ loved it! We had the BBQ burgers and no dessert. DH had the gumbo for an appetizer and the jambalaya with key lime pie for dessert. The pie was great ~ I don't even like it and it tasted good to me.

We will be going back on our December trip!

When I got our cupon, It was $50 for $20. Then on checkout I used CODE/Prome "FORK" (taht was current Promo. At end total was $6. I think cupon code FORK is good thru today. If not somebody else may have another code. Also like said above, After check out they do give you a print out option.

Hope this helps.
