Does any know if the Hertz counter at MCO is located inside the terminal? We do not want to take a shuttle to get to a counter. If not ,what counters are located inside MCO. Thanks:D

no, it's offsite and imo, generally more expensive. here is the list from mousesavers:

At Orlando International Airport (MCO) the in-terminal rental car agencies are Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, National and L&M. All others are off-site at the airport, so you will have to take a shuttle.

If you get a good deal don't let the shuttle put you off. It is a very good shuttle. I have never had to wait on one.

do you drop off your family at check in with the luggage, or do you all go to the drop off and schlep the luggage with you on the shuttle?

TIA!!

I travel alone so I carry the bags. You can do it either way. Based on what I see most people carry the bags on with them.

Hertz is off site but their shuttle is always sitting outside. You never have to wait to get one.

If you are a member of the #1 Express club you bypass the counter.

When you go to return the car stop at the airport first, do curbside check in, drop your family off then you can return the car and ride the shuttle back.

I have done this many many times at MCO and never had to wait.

If you belong to AAA they offer great discounts and I switched to Hertz because I found better deals than National.

I HATE HATE HATE shuttles, but I do not mind using Hertz at all. We've gotten them a few times through Priceline (which usually gives us on site companies), and I was nervous the first time, but they won me over. We have literally been in and out more quickly at Hertz than Alamo, even though Alamo is on site. Only once was the bus ever not there, and just as I was reaching for my cell phone to call, it pulled up...no more than 30 seconds. Hertz also has given us a couple of free upgrades.

So, if I'm traveling alone do I pick up my luggage when I arrive at MCO and then get on the shuttle to go to Hertz. Will someone with Hertz help me with my luggage onto the shuttle to go to Hertz?

On the way back do I go check my luggage in at curbside and then take the car back to Hertz and ride the shuttle back? Can I park at the curb to check my luggage in or do I go park and then check in and go back to the car to return it to Hertz.

I know so many questions, but I've never rented a car that I've had to ride a shuttle to get the car.

Someone I'm sure will get me straight.

Thanks!

When you arrive at MCO you will need to get your luggage and then go to the Hertz shuttle stop. The driver will help load it on the bus if you are having trouble. Be sure to tip the driver.

Then when you go leave MCO do curbside check in before you return the car. You can leave it at the curb and walk up to their stand. You don't go inside. Tip the sky cap for your luggage. Then return the car to Hertz and ride the shuttle back to the airport.

If you are leaving MCO at a busy time you may have to wait in line for curbside check in depending on the airline. Sometimes I just take the luggage with me on the shuttle if I am running out of time.

It sounds more complicated than it is. Hertz is very easy to rent from!!!
