Is going to US/IOA worth THIS?

That's because you're going to see WDW and adding Universal. We go to see Universal and add WDW and I go on about the high price of the Disney part.

That's exactly right. There would be no difference if you were going to Universal and adding Disney. Theme parks don't discount for short stays anymore.

The good thing about Universal, is that you can purchase the semi-non-expiry tickets from Costco and it makes those one day trips considerably cheaper.

Well, some changes since the first post...

The rooms now have a AAA discount and are at $260/night. We got a credit card offer for 2 free nights at a Hyatt and will use one of those nights to stay at the airport hotel. And, we got flights on Delta (not my first choice on airlines and not my first choice on flight times, but...) for $99/person which took out the airfare difference. The biggest difference, though, is that MIL really wanted all of us to do this together and is paying for it as our Christmas gift! Makes the decision easier!
