Is GF really worth the money?

Worth every penny to me. Beautiful grounds, luxurious rooms and great beds and wonderful service and a view to love. :flower:

The AKL and Polynesian are both great resorts, too just different.

I agree with the others though, I would not split a 4 night stay.

I missed the 4-night part. I would definitely not split a 4-night stay. We usually do 4 nights/resort. It is just too hectic for me. I would agree with above posters and have a special night at the GF with just DH.

GF is only about $40 bucks more than the Poly during the value season, Poly is just as expensive. I personally think, and plase don't flame me that the Poly is way overrated here at the DIS. The GF is worth it to me!

Mmm...Yes, but it was the only time in all my visits were I experienced rude/poor service?

I've stayed at many, many 5* resorts across north america and the service we received at GF still has me scratching my head when compared to these or even more ordinaary hotels we've been to. Ok, even saying that I would stay there again for the facility/location itself.

It's a personal thing, I guess, and to some extent, chance (in regard to service or conditions--such as weather, etc.). For my family, we had poor service in AKL concierge (which I booked after reading many great reviews of the place). It didn't turn us completely off--we've stayed at AKL in non-concierge many times and loved the place and figure our particular run of problems in concierge were probably isolated (hopefully!), but at the GF we've never had any problems whatsoever. So to some small degree I think it's just chance. Do I think GF is worth the money? Absolutely. It's my favorite deluxe resort (AKL is second). I feel pampered there, residing in beautiful, relaxing rooms, close to everything yet feeling removed from the hustle and bustle of the parks. I love it. The Poly is nice but I prefer GFs theme. There's nothing like the array of amenities avail at GF, and the look of the place is fabulous. I love the afternoon tea and the launch boats that go between MK and GF...and all the children's activities...and the way the resort looks at night while walking around the grounds...but I could go on and on :flower:

GF - as they say "It's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there..."
Poly - now were talkin! :wave2:
