Is George Bush the worst president of the last 50 years?

Is George Bush the worst president of the last 50 years?

  • Easily the worst

  • Worst? How about the best president of all time.

  • Sure, Bush is horrible. But Kerry would easily eclipse Bush's sorry ineptitude.

  • Why don't you take this to the debate board where it belongs.

Not that I actually want to take a stand on this issue.

But I thought it might be interesting to discuss how President Bush's disastrous policies (both domestic and foreign) have affected this great nation of ours.

;)

ooooo...yes.....debate board please. i hate reading arguements on the community board and this is bound to turn into one.

I also voted to take this to the debate board. I can't say I will participate - but I'm sure many people will.

Just happened to be looking for the Debate Board, I have a spare half hour for the first time in ages.
Unfortunately, it has been closed down!
Guess the CB might get even more interesting than usual in the next few days!

I voted take it to the debate board, but oops. Actually, I think Bush is much better than Kerry would be.

Well, to actually discuss this, I don't agree with your poll options. There's Bush is the best, Bush is horrible but Kerry will be worse, and Bush is the worst. Where is the "Bush is decent but not the best or the worst"? Can't we be ambivalent?

Not agree with Moi?

Surely you jest. If this was on the debate board I would point out how my poll options represent all that is good and pure and blessed about the American way. I would then cleverly segue into a discussion of how Bush betrayed his conservative ideals when he hired Karl Rove.

But since this is the CB, I have decided to answer your charge with a bunch of happy smiling thingamabobs.

Some choice of answers. ha! I'd have to vote Clinton as THE worst.

I think President Bush is a WONDERFUL president. I would be happy to be able to take this to the debate board to discuss it. Oh oh, its gone!

I think Clinton was the worse, with Carter a close second

actually I think Richard Nixon was far worse, in terms of trust and honesty and domestic policy. Clinton's personal pecadillos detract tremendously from the good policies he put into place. Carter had his good moments, but not enough of them -- he did much better as elder stateman after his presidency. It's hard to rate Eisenhower, he was just "there" if you know what I mean. hard to rate JFK, too -- too much sentiment to fairly evaluate him. Ford was a joke. Reagan -- well, I dislike him, but I can't rate himas a failure. the elder Bush -- at least he was prudent in his gulf War, knew when to stop. but the current Bush's foreign policy is easily the worst in 50 years -- he's alienated most of our allies and involved us in a horrific war for no discernable purpose. and his domestic policy -- well, Johnson worked to establish civil rights, and Bush is working to dismantle them. sorry, but he's not going to get a pssing grade from me.
