Is free dining worth it for us?

We have booked the Poly Aug 26 to Sept 2 for $213/night for 7 nights (40% off). We are trying to figure out if it would be worth booking Free Dining instead at rack rate of $355/night. There are 2 adults and 3 children under 10. Two adults have APs for that time period. We usually do just counter service meals but may do Ohana and a Character breakfast and potentially one Dinner at WS. We would do Hoop Dee Doo but I would want Tier 1 and you cannot book that with Free Dining. Any thoughts?:confused3

Well the room code saves you $142.00 per night. The dining plan would cost you $110.00 per night, so with free dining you would save $110.00 per night.

If you are staying at a deluxe, the 40% off room code is almost always the better deal (unless you have a really big family).

I don't think it is worth it for you because your kids are so young buying the plan would be cheap and if you mostly do CS anyway.

The other day someone posted a chart on where the breakevens were with any different number of guest and the different % off compared to the free dining at the different resort levels. Wish I could find it now. Although, I do seem to remember that the 40% off was the best for my family (3 Adult, 1 child) at most of the deluxes except WL and AKL.

The dining plan ends up being a much better deal if you're staying at a value, almost the same but a little better if you're staying at a a moderate, but not as good of a deal if you're staying at a deluxe (especially the Poly!)

So I'd say stick with your 40% off-- $213/night for the Poly is actually a pretty good deal!!
