Is Fantasy Island more or less crowded on extra morning hours?

I Dont understand why Ride max thinks the waits for certain Fantasy Island rides are going to be so quick. It says 5 to 10 min for most of the rides on the early hour day. I would think getting there at opening it would be crowded like crazy already . What am I missing here that they say it will only be 5 min wait?

Fantasy Island is something TOTALLLLLLLLLY different than Fantasyland, which is what I think you're referring to ;)

If the rides that are listed as having a 5 minute wait are Snow White and Pinocchio, I'd believe it, as I can frequently walk onto those lines with virtually no line at any time of day as they are very, very short rides.

lol , Thats what I meant Fantasyland I just remember how crowded it was when we went to WDW. I just cant understand the logic that there telling me to there first. I mean it will have been open a whole hour before I get there.

I think they go with "the earlier you get to fantasyland, the better" as the slow loaders' lines just continue to build through the day.

On a recent Tuesday the lines for Pinocchio, Snow White and Small World were all 5 minutes at 9ish.

I've gone during crowded summers and the FL rides first thing on a non magic morning are very short. Peter Pan is the only one that gets up to 20 minutes pretty quick. So, after PP first, we go around and do the others and many are walk on. Even Dumbo wasn't very long yet. After those, we then head over and do IASW because that line gets long later and we only want to go on it once anyway. We usually pick one day out of our trip to do FL rides. The other days we start collecting FPs when we arrive and head to SM or IJ. This year it will be a FP for Star Tours first.

The plane! THE PLANE!

Wait a minute...... are you talking about Fantasy Island that Mr. Roarke owned and operated or something else? Which by the way, I totally loved that series and still love Ricardo Montalban! He is a hot Latin cutie! Tattoo was cute too.

Actually, Tattoo spoke with a French accent, so therefore, it was "De plane!, de plane!"

If it's a Magic Morning day and you do NOT have access to MM, but ridemax is telling you to go, then in my opinion ridemax is wrong.

When we don't have access to MM, we stay far away from Fantasyland in the mornings. We wait until a normal morning, go so that we are there at ropedrop, and get to Fantasyland first.

Because you're right...if you are getting there at normal opening on a MM day, there's already an hour's worth of people in there!

Go elsewhere, that's my advice... Opening time on a MM day can be a great time to get Indiana Jones done quickly, if you have Indy riders in your party, for example...

Well, Ridemax doesn't know if you are going to DL another day or not. It only knows that you told it you wanted to go on a Fantasyland ride on a MM day. It does tell you in the "tips and hints" to avoid Peter Pan and Dumbo and Nemo on MM days if you have that option. But for all Ridemax knows, you are only going to DL on that one day. So I would take Ridemax and the Dissers' advice and avoid those rides on those days. However, other rides in Fantasyland can be just fine on MM days. Snow White, Pinocchio, Carousel, etc. can all have minimal waits even after a full hour of guests in the park.

Also, I don't think MM is completely like EMH at WDW. I would imagine that EMH would be much more packed than MM because of the sheer number of on site guests at WDW.

P.S. A Fantasy Island theme park could really be awesome! ;)

8:05 AM Snow White's Scary Adventures Fantasyland 3 Min wait
8:10 AM Pinocchio's Daring Journey Fantasyland 3 Min
8:16 AM Peter Pan's Flight 25 Min
8:44 AM Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Fantasyland 8 Min
8:55 AM Alice in Wonderland Fantasyland 12 Min
9:16 AM Mickey's House Mickey's Toontown 10 Min

Thats the order its telling me to do everything with the expected wait times. I know theres a ridemax thread but seems like its mostly WDW users. So do you guys think I should avoid this? Or maybe they dont expect a big crowd since its right before a opening of new rides?

I don't disagree with it, but. Why not Peter Pan first? It has the fastest growing line in Fantasyland so it's best to do when it's line is shortest, ASAP.

I have seen this before on MM days, Ridemax tends to be pretty conservative and wants you to get on your other choices before they get a long line. Ridemax seems to think that the PP line is not going to change that much while you are on the other rides, since there is already a significant line. You should make the call when you get there. If you see a 20 minute line for PP when you arrive, you know it will only add 5 minutes when you ride it later. However, maybe there is a fluke and it is only a 10 minute wait. Go now!

It is all based on numbers, so on average on a MM day, PP is already going to have a line over 20 minutes when you arrive in Fantasyland. Snow White and Pinocchio will probably get 10 minute lines later, so they tell you to hop on now and then do PP when the line is 5 minutes longer. It is all about collective time spent in line. So if it can lessen your wait for two lines and add 5 minutes to your PP wait, it will do that so your overall wait in lines in less. You of course, can decide to do it differently. But it is helpful to know, that if are in line at PP in the first 15 minutes or so, the line won't be too bad. Check that line in two hours and I will bet it is at an hour! :scared1:

Thanks for that input .I will stick to it since is the only day were going to visit that area with the exception of the Matterhorn.

Has anyone seen Tattoo lately? I cannot seem to find him. The last time that happened I found him taking Hula lessons on Oahu.

Actually, Tattoo spoke with a French accent, so therefore, it was "De plane!, de plane!"

I think I'll probably show my ignorance and youth here. Is this the quote that often goes "De plane, boss, de plane!" At least that's how it often goes around here (we live close to a regional airport and often have planes going over our head). DH always told me it came from an Indiana Jones movie, not that we've ever found it in all the millions of times we've watched Indi... Now I know...

To those DL regs and Ridemax users. Would he do better to show himself coming in at 9 to the FL rides? That way Ridemax times might be more accurate?
