Is Fantasmic Dinner Package needed on May 10 or11?

My kids really want to eat at Toy Story Pizza Planet and we are eating at Sci Fi for lunch. I really don't want to get the dinner package. do you think it will be necessary or since it's a slower time of year will we be ok?

I would do the package, just in case. You certainly don't want to have to wait around 1 1/2 - 2 hours ahead of show time. On the other hand, if there are two showing of Fantasmic, the second show hardly ever has a wait.

Pizza Planet is nothing to write home about, and I wouldn't skip the FDP just to eat at PP. It is NOTHING like the movie and is basically just a cafeteria that serves Pizza. I think there are a few video games, but your kids will be VERY disappointed if they think it will be like the movie.

Wouldn't you think, this being Disney, that they would MAKE Pizza Planet more like the movie version? If they had done that, they could even have gone with a Character lunch there or something.

They will have a character breakfast soon. Toy Story characters. That will be great. Maybe if it is a huge hit, they will extend it to lunch.


As far as the the FDP, I always do it and thank myself later. We are going early May and will be doing it then as well.

I would suggest doing the FDP anytime of the year. It is a real pleasure to know that you won't have to show up 1 1/2 to 2 hours ahead of the show and will be able to just walk in to the reserved section of the theater. Well worth it and it gives you an opportunity to sit down and enjoy a good meal. You have to eat anyway, right?

Pizza Planet is a great place for a quick lunch but as another poster said, if your kids think it will be like the Toy Story movie, they will be disappointed. Lot's of Toy Story stuff on the outside (on top and such) but not too much inside.

Right! I knew about the upcoming Toy Story Character meal, but I thought it was going to be at H&V?

I was just thinking that it's too bad the Pizza Planet restaurant isn't more like the one in the Toy Story Movie. My dd was vastly disappointed that it isn't.
