Is fantasia building worth the extra money??

I am getting ready to book movies. I would love to stay in toy story. I am thinking of booking fantasia just so I know I would be close to pool and just asking for building 9 close to playground/ The map looks like that it would be somewhat near toy story. What are the chances of getting toy story ??? I do not want to be stuck somewhere... thanks..any suggestions??amy

Depends on ages of kids and priorities (and also what time you'll be checking in). When we stayed at Movies last year I asked for Toy Story and got Mighty Ducks. Personally, I overall I found Movies much more compact than Music. The playground was almost too young for our DD age 7. And we were RIGHT beside the Mighty Ducks pool which was great. Keep in mind that while Fantasia is closer you're paying the building. Just be ready to accept it if you pay the extra but get the room that's the farthest from the pool, food court and playground.

Personally, I don't think its worth the extra money, unless you are traveling with someone who is mobility impaired. The resort really isn't that big - so none of the rooms are really that far from the food court/bus stop.

The first time we stayed at the Movies, we arrived around 9:30 AM. I requested Toy Story, but we were given Love Bug. We really enjoyed our room - it was very quiet, and a short walk to the food court/bus stop. Last year, we arrived after midnight, requested 101 Dalmations and got it!! Again, it was very quiet and really close to the food court/bus stop.

In December 2001 we checked in at 9:00 am and got Buzz building. We were able to walk behind the building and ta dah! we were at the bus stop without having to go through the lobby area.

In February we checked in at 10:00 pm at night and were put in the Love Bug building. We requested a Toy Story building and left our bags packed in the room the next morning when we left for the parks. We when got back the bellhops had moved our bags to the Woody building.

I personally would NOT like the Fantasia buildings since the pool is so close and it is a high traffic area. Just my humble opinion.

I would not pay extra for a preferred room at Movies. The resort is not all that spread out. Actually, 101 Dalmations and Toy Story are just about as close to everything as Fantasia. We were in 101 Dalmations, and I liked being located between the 2 pools. I don't think we'd have minded even if we were put in Love Bug or Mighty Ducks at this resort. It is laid out nicely. Enjoy your trip!
