Is Fairfield Inn that awful?

Hi,
I don't want to burst your bubble, but I am a travel agent that has been sending clients to DL for many years and I have also stayed there. Truth be told, this is not my favorite hotel. Why are you committed? Did you just guarantee your room with a card or one night's deposit. That you can get back. If you booked through a third party (hotwire, etc.), then you would need to contact them to have your reservation refunded or moved. I actually think it's a great 2 star, but if you have higher expectations, you won't be happy. I would definitely try to move unless you reallize it is a 2 star. This is why people should not book through a 3rd party (priceline, hotwire, etc.). I have never found their prices cheaper than anything that I can offer and we don't have the non refundable thing and conditions these companies have. Just sayin"

Just out of curiosity, what about it makes it a 2 star instead of, say, a 3 star? I'm familiar with some Fairfield Inns in other areas and it never occurred to me that they could be a "2 star" so I'm curious if they vary location to location, or what criteria qualifies them as 2 star.

To the OP: I'm glad you posted about this hotel, as my family and I are staying there 2 months from now and the reason I booked was mostly due to location + brand familiarity. It is nice to hear what everyone has to say, even if it is not 100% positive. It looks like a nice basic hotel to me.

Another who has stayed here twice (2008 and 2012) and have no complaints.

Both times we have requested a disney side room. The higher the floor the better as there are more chances of a good view.

The rooms have always been clean and well stocked. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

The location is EXCELLENT in our opinion.

I would have no worries staying here again:)

I'm another fan of the FFI!! We stayed for 5 nights in December and thought it was a great place to stay. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to my friends/family as well!

Another vote for FFI. We've stayed at FFI, HOJO and Best Western Park Place Inn and rate HOJO and FFI as our two favorites for an off site hotel.

I stayed there last year during the D23 Expo, and I loved it. I would stay there again and again if it weren't for the walk. I have ended up with some sort of injury on more than one trip, and now I'm afraid to stay somewhere without a shuttle! lol

We have stayed at FFI many times and can't fault it. No its not the Grand Californian but you already know that. Just an aside, the water pressure in the shower is much better at FFI than GC. We have booked FFI for November this year, we can't wait. :goodvibes

It's not awful at all! Don't worry--it'll be fine.

My daughter and her friend stayed there in 2011 and it was clean (not chemical smelly) and had no complaints. The location is great, very close to main gates. Tons of places to eat right around the hotel, too.

There will always be someone who had a negative experience at any location you choose. Always. Just count on that as you read reviews. If it's a landslide of negative reviews, definitely pay attention to that. Overall though, most places try really hard to earn your business and have you return.

We stayed there at the beginning of March and thought it was great. We had a princess themed room and a connecting Pirates themed room. They were definitely clean and updated. The customer service was fantastic. We were there when Disneyland was closed due to the "suspicious package" and the front desk called us to let us know Disneyland had opened. We had a wonderful time!
