Is expiration date of AP a valid ticket day?

MDE reflects my AP expiration date as 8/21. Would that mean I could use it on 8/21, and if I renewed, the new pass would start 8/22? Just want to be sure I will have a ticket for 8/21 whether I renew or not.

Technically, the renewal would start on 8/21 and expire 8/21 of the following year.
