Is EP worth it if DH hates motion simulator rides?

WDW vets going for first UO trip.

DH HATES most motion simulators. The ones that are like Star Tours. Flights of Passage and Soarin are fine. I'm getting the idea that a lot of Universals' big rides are motion simulators? Is staying at one of the EP free resorts worth the extra cost still?

We are almost entirely going for HP as I'm a children's librarian and DD has finally read the books. Is Forbidden Journey worth trying to get DH on?

Any sources that I can research rides on? I know there are lots of Youtube videos, but I would love information without spoiling everything for myself!
Thanks!

If Soarin' and Flight of Passage are fine, then most of Universal's rides will be fine. There are only a couple like Star Tours. I would avoid Simpsons and the Jimmy Fallon ride. The rest should be okay.

Thank you! I'm going to take one for the team and watch some videos.

Forbidden Journey is not like a "motion simulator", nor is Gringotts. I would at the very least ride them first before bringing hubby, but better yet get him on them. Even if he decides he doesn't want to go again, he can at least say he went. But if I were you, I would enjoy the experience fresh rather than watch videos of them.

Your DH should probably skip Minions and Shrek if he is not a fan of 3D movie / motion type rides. Simpsons is definitely in the motion simulator family but is unique and well done - reminiscent of those "4D motion" rides where you are in a car that moves with screens around you (you are actually in a car in a big theater moving along with the action).

If he tries Spiderman or Transformers and dislikes it, skip the other.

Kong is not really your typical simulator either - you're in a big truck watching action on either side as you move along.

Forbidden Journey is a set of 4 seats that move along a conveyor. They are on a robot arm which moves them in all orientations. The ride transitions back and forth from screens to real sets and moving props.

Gringotts is roller coaster cars that stop at various points where scenes take place.

Totally not-even-a-little-motion-simulatory rides:
-ET
-Dr Doom's Fearfall
-Hulk & Rip Ride Rocket
-Men in Black
-Mummy
-Storm force accelatron (teacups)
-Kang and Kodos (Dumbo style w/ sarcasm)
-Flight of the Hippogriff and Woody Woodpecker (kiddie coasters, adults can ride too)
-Hogwarts Express train (does have "screen effects")
-Any of the wet rides (Jurassic Park, Dudley Doright flume, Popeye barges)
-Anything in Seuss Landing
-Pterodon flyers (kids only)

Minions and Simpsons caused me a bit of trouble and I am not prone to motion sickness. No others did or they did so briefly that closing my eyes for a few seconds was enough.
It's impossible to say though what rides will bother people. There have been threads like that and at the end of the day there is nothing unanimous except The Simpsons. :)

That`s certainly true about Simpsons...…

I wouldn't have believed how bad it affected me considering I can do every other ride with no issues.

May TF now and again, but generally Simpsons is dreadful for anyone with motion issues.

Thank you everyone! This is very helpful!
