Is Easter/Spring Break as crazy in DL as in WDW?

We are looking at taking a trip to DL and I am contemplating a driving trip using Easter break as part of the trip.

Does anyone know if this is a crazy idea. Is DL just mobbed?

Thanks
Vickie

P.S. When are the slow times?

In general, WDW is always more crowded than DL. DL is pretty crowded during Easter. I was there a couple years ago. Lines for major attractions were up to 60 minutes.

Slower periods of time during the year include:
-January (except first week and Martin Luther)
-February (except President's Week)
-November (except Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving)
-first 2 weeks of December.

Most other times are relatively busy.

We went over Spring Break this year and will NEVER EVER NEVER NEVER do it again!!!! It was the worst trip that we ever had. I don't want to discourage you at all but it was so crowded!! We couldn't even all walk together. We had to almost walk in a single file line just to get through the crowds. I wound up taking our girls back 3 weeks later to make up for it!

Would someone be so kind as to tell me the dates of Easter break for schools? I'm a college student taking a friend to DL for the first time during our spring break, which is the week of March 17, Good Friday falls on that Friday. Is Easter break that week? Please, tell me it's not, I'd rather not fight ridiculous crowds for her first time at DL. It'd be nice not to stand in line for extreme amounts of time.

They last for over a month these days because of year round schools and different alternate school calendars.

The earliest would be the second week of March, and the latest probably being the third week of April.

The L.A. Unified School District, which is the largest public school system in the state (and second largest in the country), has their Spring Break from March 17-21.

Expect DLR to be EXTREMELY BUSY that week, with summertime-like crowds and operating hours (8:00AM-Midnight).

We were also there at Easter last year. Let's just say the crowds were :scared1: crazy! Friday and Saturday nights it was almost frightening. It was elbow to elbow in several areas. Yuck. In the afternoon and evening of Easter, the crowds were considerably smaller. It was very refreshing since we had to battle the crowds all of the other days. If you can plan another time, I would.
