Is DVC worth it?

I know that there are other considerations, but...

I consider that I paid approximately $2/point per year, and pay approximately $5/point in maintenance fees.

Since I can stay at BWV for 9 pts./nt. I can stay in a studio for $63/night!!!

When was the last time you stayed anywhere other than Motel 6 for $63/NIGHT.

Since I paid cash for my points, I now only have to worry about MFs. With my 100 points, I can stay 10 nights for $521.

I know that its just prepaid, but...we now have APs, so between APs and DVC, I can go to WDW and have a great time...just for the price of gas and food.

Here's a link to a spreedsheet that someone did that may help you decide.

We did something similar and after years of staying at the Poly:lovestruc and other deluxe resorts we decided that it was defintely worth it for us. We are a family of 5 so we can't stay value or moderate without the need for 2 rooms, and while deluxe rooms are nice they are still just hotel rooms. We purchased without ever staying in anything other than a deluxe room and took our first DVC trip this past November. We stayed in a 2 bdrm and believe me there's no going back. Our trip was so relaxed and enjoyable having plenty of room for everyone to move around, it was so nice having the seperate rooms and not all being cramped into a hotel room. All I can say and I'm sure you'll hear this a lot but I just wish we had done it sooner!!

Boy do I have to echo this! We have a family of five and even the nicest hotel rooms are still hotel rooms. We have gotten really spoiled with the condo layout, room to suit your party size and I especially like the kitchen and laundry to clean up swim suits and eat breakfast in. It's like a Porsche 911 while undoubtedly a great sports car will never accommodate 5 passengers comfortably. The extra room also opens up an additional aspect of actually staying with others instead of crowding in a hotel room for any indoor activity. I especially like how we can get together with family and friends and everyone still has their space and privacy for more smiles than grunts on all sides.:thumbsup2
