Is Dunkin Donuts a national chain?

Hi Stinkerbelle!

Number 1 reason I miss CT......my everyday DD coffee and donut fix on my way to work! Now I have to drive 15 minutes to get to one and it is not even on my way to work.

All my CT family that comes to visit can't believe there are hardly and DD's!

2 years ago when we were on our Honeymoon in WDW...I had to be taken to the Centra Care urgent care facility on INternational drive. (I threw my back out and was having back spasms...) on our way back to the resort, DH sees a DD/Baskin Robbins...yells SCORE...and pulls in.

I ask for my usual (large French Vanilla skim milk/equal) He comes back out, hands it to me and says "i dunno if you're gonna like it - it's not vanilla coffee...it's regular with a flavor shot"...it was super sweet, but drinkable.

now...that's how ALL the flavored coffees come! booo!!! I'm used to it now, but I miss the vanilla BEAN!

(and - as for Krispey Kreme - I don't see the thrill...I'm not a huge donut fan...but those are just over the top disgusting)

yeah, never been a Krispy Kreme fan...had my first one at my MIL"s house in NC and both my DH and I got sick...we think it was just too sweet.

I didn't get sick, but agre, too sweet.

The majority of people who go to Dunkin Donuts do so for the coffee. Not me personally, since I don't drink coffee, but for all those suggesting Krispy Kreme - well, first - it's about the coffee, not the donuts and second, here in MA where Dunkin Donuts is based, krispy kreme is slow in opening around here. You can find a DD on every corner, but KK - there might be only 4 in the entire state.

A few years ago, a friend and I were going to Texas...staying in Arlington. And she did a search to find where there was a DD and how to get there because she couldn't make it through the 3 day trip without a DD iced coffee. Imagine her surprise when they didn't even have iced coffee on the menu so she had to explain to them that she wanted a hot coffee with ice in it.

Why would you want Dunkin Donuts when you could have Krispy Kreme's??? :confused3 I'm befuddled!

Because Krispy Kreme doughnuts have too much sugar and they make my hands eewwwiee...

I guess it's to each their own, but a fresh, hot KK, mmmmm. JMHO, but DD's taste stale to me. My sister worked for DD and we could have our fill. And we did get our fill early on. I agree, KK are sweet, but if you only eat one (and thats enough) its just right for me. I guess I'll just have to be in the minority here :flower:

yes they are national. my boyfriend's mom is the regional sales manager (of the chains) for one of the areas. she gets to travel all over the place for the company.

I'm in North Texas and we have some here!
They have them in North Texas? Any near Denton? Unfortunately the way that website was set up (or at least how I used it), it only told me what's within 50 miles of me-NONE! I miss them terribly from when we lived in Massachusetts. I loved their jelly-filled cake cruellers. Mmmmm!

I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have a Dunkin Donut's near them. I rarely ever buy donuts but how does one live without their coffee??!!! :confused3

I will drive miles out of my way for DD Hazelnut iced coffee with cream and sweet -n- low.

KK are WAY too sweet for my taste.

I grew up in Detroit, and I am sure some of you know "It's time to make the doughnuts" commercial and I say that all the time at work, and no one has a clue what I am talking about. The closest one to me is in Lawrence KS, and as far as I know that is the only one in Kansas!

Unfortunately, I believe they are pretty much everywhere. But if they have Krispy Kreme in Boston, I highly recommend it. :teeth:

Oh NO NO NO! If I had to chose I'd pick up a DD anyday over KK.

I have seen Dunkin' Donuts around here, but the last one I remember seeing is now closed (near Texas Christian University). The ones I've been to in OK and TX were always kinda old and nasty :crazy2:, and the chain seems to have sort of phased out in this part of the country. Mom and Pop places are the best donut shops around here (but maybe not if you are after good coffee). And yes, we do have Krispy Kreme shops. KK's give me heartburn.

In the summer I drink a medium iced with milk and fouh sugahs. Now that it’s cold, I drink a medium hot with milk and two sugahs.:drinking1 In the winter I love to hold the medium styrofoam cup, it’s very comforting. :cold: Then when I’m cravin’ a donut I get a plain so I can dunk it. Hey…what ever happened to the plain donut with the built in handle? I miss those.

There are places in the world without Dunks? How is this possible?

I actually had to look up the nearest one to WDW for our last trip. My sister lives in CA and was desperate (OK, so it was more for me than for her, but don't tell her that :) )

DH is a Dunkin' coffee addict. LOL Thank goodness they are on every corner here in MA.

He just returned from a month in New Orleans with National Guards. The first morning back home here in MA, our neighbor brought him a Dunkin Donuts coffee (just the way he likes it). DH WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!! He hadn't had any in over a month!!! I just don't know HOW he survived without his coffee.

I booked us a trip to WDW for December while he was gone. Glad to report to him that there is a Dunkin' Donuts very nearby that we'll have to pass each morning on the way to the parks. He says "that's why you booked that timeshare, right"? I said "Of course!!!". :rotfl:
