Is Disneyworld crowded Thanksgiving week?

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I'm new to these boards and did a search and could not find anything. We were planning a Disney trip for the first week of Nov. 2005. That's when we went four years ago, and the parks were practically deserted. Now my niece has decided to get married in Tampa over Thanksgiving weekend, so if we want to do Disney also, it has to be then also. What are the crowds like? If it's too crowded, my husband will want to ditch the Disney idea and just do the wedding, and my daughter has been so looking forward to Disney. Thanks!

I will be more crowded than when you went before. However, the crowds should not be a problem. It's not as crowded as Christmas, for example, but the parks will be busy. I say go, enjoy, but don't expect to just walk on the rides. Be sure to use fastpass. It really does help.

The beginning of the week shouldn't be crowded. However, from Thursday through Saturday, the parks will be very crowded; all of Walt Disney World's resorts are sold out for November 25-27 (Thursday - Saturday) this year.

That said, late November is a GREAT time of year to travel. A lot going on activity-wise, and you'll see the Christmas decorations go up. Enjoy! :)

It is crowded until Sunday after Thanksgiving, then things get alot less crowded.

I've written replys several times about this time of year. Over the Thanksgiving weekend it is VERY, VERY crowded! We used to go over this weekend and stopped due to the high volumes of people. I got cranky even at my most favorite place to visit! If you didn't have any other time of the year to go and this was the only time you would get there, then I would say try it. Otherwise, I would try to get there another time of the year.

All of the above posters are correct. It's not very crowded until Thanksgiving day and then it's a little crazy. However, we still always go this week and love it. We usually arrive the Sat. or Sun. before Thanksgiving and leave the Sat. after. We avoid MK from Thanksgiving day until end of trip except for times we just feel really brave. We always seem to enjoy ourselves no matter what. Hope you have an enjoyable trip. Only a few more days for me---------:wave: :wave2: :wave: :wave2: :wave:

Ellyn2000-------BINGO!!!!!!!!! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

That's our MO also--Everything is manageable until
Thanksgiving day :sunny:

If you can swing it, do the wedding on the weekend and do Disney starting Monday after for a few days, or do Disney up to the Wednesday before, not near as crowded.

I was hoping to do Wednesday before but my wife is a teacher and will all the hurricane out days this year they took that off day away from the school.

WDW has extended MK hours until Midnight starting on the Saturday before Thanksgiving so I think they are predicting large crowds for most of the week.
