My 9 and 4 year old daughters are booked for a Disney Pirate Adventure at the Grand Floridian. My 9 year old is having doubts about the activity, worried she is too old for it. The age range says 4-10 - is this really fun for 9 year olds?

I want to reassure her that this will be fun because if we cancel now it will be sold out for sure if she changes her mind.

All advice appreciated!

Sorry I can't respond to the poll. But I can say that Disney does a great job with the kids. My dd's both did the tea party and cooking class, one dd did the cooking twice. The staff has always been so fun and professional. That have the kids safety first, and fun second. They always spent lots of time talking to the kids and playing with them, not talking to each other. Each time we picked the kids up they always knew their names, and would say something personal to each kid as they left. Like: have fun today at epcot Brandy, or hope to see you again Sam, or maybe your younger sister will come with you next time, Tina.

As far as the age goes, I would think this depends on how many other 9 and 10 year olds their are. No real way of knowing I guess.

My DS was 9, almost 10, when he did this and he loved it. I left it up to him to decide, told him I didn't know if he'd be one of the only older kids or not, etc. He found another boy the same age right off the bat and they partnered for the whole thing.

Of course, there's no way of knowing ahead of time, but when DS went, there were more older kids than younger ones.

Good luck with your decision and have a great trip!

My grandson went on the pirate cruise in 2002 when he was 7 ... he enjoyed it so much that he, his sister and his cousin (9, 7½ and 10) are doing the cruise later this month.

I've got my fingers crossed that there will be a 7-9 y.o. girl for my granddaughter to buddy-up with.

what day is your g'dd going on the pirate cruise... we are still undecided about whether or not to do it, and i have a 9yo dd (and a 7yo ds who i KNOW would love it)
