I was wondering if Disneyland and CA are open during the mornings of the half marathons, and other races?

If yes, pretty much on a normal opening schedule?

Do they run the races through the parks? Somewhere nearby?

they will prob open at 9. The run goes through there first thing and they start early so the parks can open at a decent time

The park hours have been published in the event guide. They both open at 9 on Sat and Sun. I do think they switch the EMH/MM days for the weekend though. I seem to remember EMH for DCA being on the Saturday last year (because it was my one and only park day the whole weekend).

The races start VERY early, like 5:30 a.m. The courses, which are a mixture of in the parks and out on the streets of Anaheim, are designed to have runners out of the parks by opening time. I can see swapping the EMH hours, as the races usually finishes in DCA, so they would want that park to open last to get all the runners done before the gates open.

I went directly into Disneyland after I finished Tink half. It was maybe 9:20 or 9:30 by the time I got over there (I am a slow runner, and I wasn't exactly walking quickly to get to the turnstiles), and it was a ghost town in the parks. Later in the day, though, it was crowded. The day before, I found it to be VERY crowded in the afternoon.

Because most runners will need a rest and a shower before heading into the parks, your best bet is to get there at rope drop to get things done before the crowd builds!

It's not a marathon, but the CHOC walk event does go through the parks and results in a later than normal opening. The parks generally opened at 8 am on. Sunday in October, but on that Sunday (at least last year) the parks did not open until 10 am.

Also, the CHOC walk (though I would expect the runs as well) hellishly crowds the parks the day before and the day of. Last year was awful.

Thank you all, very helpful information, and it sounds like marathon weekends are very busy ones.
