Is Disney digital scrapbooking an option?

Timon, I did not know you went digital. There are no words for your layouts. They are amazing! You do an awesome job! I would love a quick course on making items in photoshop. I have been working with it but can't get anything going. Did you do a tutorial to figure it all out or are you just that smart? I cannot wait until I can do pages like that! Thanks so much for sharing your layouts with us. I can't wait to see the other ones you do.

Thanks for the kind words

I taught myself photoshop basically. I fooled around with it, read a few books, and did some free online tutorials. There's so much free stuff on the web, just do a search and you will find tons of how-to stuff to start learning, it's really easy!

It's such an amazing program, and there's so much to it! I have been using it for about 2 years now and I still learn something just about everytime I use it! I will never stop learning!

It's also great for making an "okay" photo a "great" photo!

What version do you use? I can make good photos great with it. I have had lots of practice with that part of it. LOL!!!

I just got an e-mail form Rockymountainhoppies.com, and they have digital kits. Kettle Kuts has one called Pretty Mouse and it could definetly be used for Disney LO's.

Timon, I have always loved looking at your LO's. They are really great. I am also interested in what version of photoshop you have, I have been looking into getting a different photo editing program, the photoshop I looked at was around $500, so I don't think I will go for that! (If I were going to spend that much I would get a wishblade ;) )

My original version of the program was 6.0 which was an education version that cost me about $150 CDN. Then hubby upgraded to CS (he never told me how much he paid I am guessing about $200-$300) for Christmas and then this year I took some web courses at Mount Royal College and got a great deal on CS2 education version. CS2 is a bit of a memory hog but I like the new features! I have heard that Photoshop Elements (a more basic version of Photoshop) works well for scrapping too but I have never used it.

I've found a few kits on Digital Scrapping sites that could definitely be used for Disney, without infringing on any copywrite laws.

www.cgessentials.com She has 4 kits that are all disneyesque. They are:

Around the World Kit
On Safari Kit
Retro Vacation Kit
Always a Princess Kit

I've bought stuff from Kim before and her quality is AMAZING.

And Digitals has 3 kits by Glenda Ketcham right now in her "The Most Wonderful Place on Earth" collection. They are
Honey Bear
Mouse Scrap
T-Riffic
(one guess what each of these kits are).

I'm currently making a digital autograph book (will print pages for the characters to sign at the parks). I've scanned in a lot of stickers and used clip art for some of the pages. I also created a mickey mouse head which I saved as a brush and seamless tile in photoshop. I've used that on some background paper.

I would love to see your autograph book.....

I have sooooo many pictures and just do not know where to get started... For you who are doing digital... Do you find it faster than traditional scrapbooking????

I have so much scrap "crap" but just can't get started....
This could be a better way than in a book.

Do you print these out???

If you are new to digiscrapping and want to get started, check out www.digitalscrapbookplace.com. There are tutorials there that take you step by step through several of the most popular programs like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and Digital Image Pro. That's how I learned. And they offer freebies every week.

I also love the freebie kits at www.shabbyprincess.com.

Timon, your digital scrappages are fantastic! I just started digi-scrapping, and posted a few on the Gallery thread. I've added your site as a favorite for inspiration!

Wow! Those LOs are amazing - I love the colours of the castle one

I scan a lot of my papers and make my own as well. I'm using Photoshop Elements 3.0 and I love it. There are hundreds of free tutorials out there and if you are willing to learn as much as possible, PSE can do almost everything its more expensive counterpart, Photoshop, can for a fraction of the price.

Sandy22,
Do you have a 12 x 12 printer. What are your recommendations if you do have one.
Also with Photoshop elements, do you purchase it online or have to get it at a computer store? How much does it cost to purchase?

Timon,
I love all of your LO's. If I took a course at NAIT, which one would you recommend? I don't have a digital camera but I have everything put on CD now. My knowledge of computers is basic.

Thanks

How can you scan 12x12 papers? Do you have a large scanner?

No I can't scan 12x12 size. I have a regular scanner and I either resize the paper in Photoshop or, if the pattern won't allow it, I join two scans into one 12x12 paper - you just have to line them up carefully. But I mostly just resize. It's rarely an issue because I scrap mostly in 8x8 or 8x10 (mostly due to printing costs).

Disneyfunseeker, I downloaded the free PSE trial from adobe.com. Then I bought it on-line from BestBuy. I don't like printing at home so I send them on-line to Walmart or my local grocery store for printing.
