Is Disney Buying Back Poly Points???

Hi All,

We've have just had an offer accepted on a Resale Poly Contract and I'm expecting it to go to ROFR in the next few days.

Question, does anyone know if Disney are ROFR'ing Poly contracts at the moment?

Just trying to prepare ourselves and get a grasp of how likely we are to pass ROFR

Yes good luck! Should be no problem other than waiting for everything to come through,

and Poly is awesome Very exciting. We’re keeping an eye out to add-on there too.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know this. That's great. So, what is the current approximate difference in price between the direct from Disney purchase of Poly and the Resale market price for Poly?

From what I've seen it depends on the size of the contract etc, but most resale contracts seem to be around $60 to $70 per point cheaper than direct at the moment.

I haven't been following the DVC sales of Poly now that the new Tower is built. Is Disney kind of splitting the Poly memberships into the NEW BUILDING or the OLD BUILDINGS, like they did with Animal Kingdom, where you own either Kidani or Jambo? I am also assuming that they are just selling the NEW Poly contracts with the same expiration date as the original Poly contracts?

It's very similar but not exactly the same. New purchases will mostly show the tower rooms on the deed I believe. Since that is where the new points are coming from. Like some AKV show Jambo and some Kidani.

But unlike AKV where they split the booking search into Jambo and Kidani, when going to book it will all be under the Polynesian, with the tower rooms just being listed like a different view would be. Tower studio vs Studio for example.

But in both cases they are essentially the same association and cost the same for the same room type for the same view, and have the same expiration date. So it's the same as what AKV did for the deeds, but a little different for how booking shows up
