Is Dinosaur really rough or is it me?

I won’t ride again because of the roughness. Warning the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland is the same ride, just different scenery. I won’t do t again.
Was going to ask how it compares to Indiana Jones at Disneyland. I've heard they are technically the same ride (but different theme) , but I don't remember it being as rough as OP experienced. It was jerky but not unsafe

No bones about it- its a rough ride. The very definition of "herky jerky" LOL. Just a lot of random movement in all directions that you can't predict unlike a coaster where you can (usually) see the turns and hills coming (unless its in the dark, ala Space Mountain, or Rock N Rollar Coaster- darn you Disney)

Unpopular opinion: I didn't think it was that jerky. I actually got off the ride a little underwhelmed.

Maybe I'm just too used to Indiana Jones and Matterhorn at DL lol.

it is rough. still enjoyable on the whole

Thanks for the replies. We may have to give it one more shot then and ask for the front row. I do agree with the comment that it could be more of the fact that it is a "random" movement as to when you ride other attractions, you can usually gauge when a jerk is coming and in what direction.

I find it very interesting that some think it is less rough than EE. I never thought of EE as being rough at all and I've set in front, middle and back. The only part I would consider rough is the end when the car stops before you get off. If your not ready for it, you would think it would almost give you whiplash.

I broke someone else's kid on that ride. They were scared to get on, and my son (who was 8 at the time and about her age) and I encouraged her that it would be okay, and the ride isn't that bad.

She came off in tears (from the jerkiness)..... We both felt terrible.

I don't think of it as overly rough, it is jerky at times and intended to be that way.
The entire ride was really toned down when it changed from Count Down to Extinction and became more family friendly Dinosaur.
Still fun, but can be scary for younger kids.

We rode it for the first time in 10 years on our July trip. Never again. I thought I was going to throw up.

It's rough if you are unprepared. My wife was wiped out afterwards and we had to leave the park for the day (her health issues were aggravated by the ride). It's a no go for her. I might again by myself but it's not high on my list.

Compare this to UO's Transformers where we got heads up about it. Now this ride isn't as jerky but certainly has its moments. We both enjoyed the ride far more than Dino and would ride that one again.

First, had to laugh at the previous 8 seconds comment. But I think it's pretty apt, because that ride is unpredictable. At least it won't try to kill you- only to pretend to do so. I think.

But I think EE is rough. I used to be able to ride it easily but now I can't. I don't think my spine problems have changed that much, but maybe. Anyway, I can't go on it anymore. And definitely not KS. Good thing there is Pandora.

It is a rough ride, but I love it. One of my favorite rides in WDW. I would not recommend it if you have back or neck problems. My 8yo nephew did not like it at all be of the jerkiness and he was scared of the dinosaurs.

I have avoided riding Dinosaur since the park opened because I heard about how rough it was and just recently decided to give it a try and OMG I was hanging on for dear life in some parts!

This ride was a one and done for both DH and myself. Hands down, my least favorite ride because of the jerkiness. My girls love it though!

It jerks you around, but I've never felt it to be rough on my spine. The rides that I feel are rough are Space Mountain and Goofy's Barnstormer.
