Is dinner at Chef Mickey's really that bad?

We were supposed to end our vacation with b-fast at CM's:sad1: but I just couldn't picture myself twirling a napkin and celebrating when my suitcases were already packed and sent to the airport....

So I changed my ADR to dinner on our arrival night. I know the food is pretty ordinary but we still enjoy it and I think we will have more to celebrate on our arrival day (beginning of our vacation) than on our departure day.

I wouldn't say it's that bad but it's not great. I think the quality is now similar to Golden Corral. Edible but not great.

:rotfl: I can just imagine Disney's next advertising campaign.

We're as good a Golden Corral ! :rotfl: :rotfl:

or "Disney Food - Edible but not Great !"

I'm still laughing. That really hit my funny bone. :rotfl2:

The problem is . . . . it is a very accurate description. (I don't care for Golden Corral either).

We went for dinner in October 2005. It was our first time and we all loved it. It is a bit on the loud side but it was fine. The kids had a blast. The meat was fresher and tastier then the prime rib I had at CRT the night before. The garlic Mashed taters are not to be missed. YUM.

We went to CM's in Sept 05 and that was the highlight of service for our whole trip. I am not sure why, but the characters REALLY interacted with our DS 20months. Minnie (pictured at CM's in my siggy) kissed my son too. I swear she sat and interacted with him for about two solid minutes. I actually started to feel bad. However, when I looked around I saw characters really interacting with all of the kids. We had an absolute blast! (We also were seated BEFORE our ADR's - so didn't even have to wait for our good time to start)

We went for breakfast, and thought that it was pretty good. I haven't been to CM's for dinner, but if others are comparing it to Crystal Palace, then I would agree that the food is good, but not haute cuisine.

I go there for my children ( they love the characters)...the food is mediocre at best.

We love chef mickeys. We love breakfast and dinner. Its fun and easier than trying to entertain little ones during long many course meals.

When making ADRs for our next trip, CM's was one of the few places my youngest dd requested we go again. We've done breakfast and dinner and she wanted to have dinner there again. We ended up with bad colds that night and I coudn't really tell you what the food tasted like! For us it's about the kids, the characters, fun atmosphere... and giving the kids a choice. :goodvibes I figure if she can go along with dining at the more adult restaurants for me, I can do the same for her. :thumbsup2

So true. Dh teases me mercilessly about the funk I'm always in when it's time for a vacation to end.

We have eaten at Chef Mickeys twice and find the food to be good. With so many choices there is always something for everyone. And we are foodies.
