Is dining a must at WC when staying at WL?

We are staying at WL in October. Originally I had reservations at WC for two days there as I thought it would be convenient and that the kids would love it. After reading some reviews and looking at the menu, I decided that there were other places our family would enjoy more. We are not a big meal barbeque type of family. However, now after I cancelled the dinner ADR, I am wondering if my kids are going to decompensate when we get there. Can you tell from the lobby what is going on??? What I'm asking is, Will they want to go there when they see it? I still have a lunch ADR but was thinking of cancelling that too??

For some reason I can't remember for sure, maybe because we don't stay there, just go to eat dinner, but I think you can see or at least hear some of what is going on. We really enjoy it here, the food and the experience. We always go here for our first night's dinner. It gets us excited and ready for a reat vacation. I may be the wrong person to ask because we enjoy it so much, but I think you would have fun if you went...

Yes, you can tell from the lobby what is going on. The entire side of the restaurant is open to the lobby area.

Will they want to go there?? Can't say. Sometimes it is quiet with not much going on, and other times it is a loud madhouse. Depends on when you walk by, as to what you will see going on. Dinner seems to be the most active time for 'antics', but we ate there last week for lunch, and a few things were going on then. Breakfast, by comparison, was pretty tame, like eating in a normal restaurant.

We didn't dine there when we stayed at WL, just don't much care for it. If you wander past during dinner, you may hear/see some of the antics but it's a little raised so they probably won't see it all.

WCC is unavoidable at WL. It's large and noisy, and you can hear it really well (sometimes too well) from the entire lobby, including the front desk. Sometimes you have to stop talking and wait for the latest roar to die down before completing your check-in process.

Now, if that sounds really bad, it's not. It's just the nature of the beast -- if you like rowdy, fun-filled dinners with lots of attitude, it's a great place. But, IMO, it's only worth doing once on a given trip. YMMV. :goodvibes

Exactly.

Some folks love it, others....ehh, not so much. Depends on the individual.

But, as stated above, there's no avoiding it, it's not a four walled restaurant, it's right in the middle of things.

Is it a 'must do' for us ? No.

When we stay at WL, we can't kept but want to eat at WCC. The first time, it wasn't scheduled, but after hearing all the rukus, we had to eat there and see/hear it all first hand! Loved it. The second WL trip, we just had to do it again because it was fun & it's convenient!

We ate at WC on our arrival night. We were tired and just wanted a meal, and it was a terrific surprise - loved it! :thumbsup2

I must say that this was in Jan 2002 and was a walk-in. This apparently just doesn't happen anymore. But I would definitely book an adr, it is a wonderful introduction to your trip, in my opinion.

We are staying at WL in January for 8 days and not going to WC. It does not sound fun for our family and the menu didn't interest us.
