Is DCL changing their logo?

I noticed that there is some new merchandise out for DCL in 2017, and where you would usually see the DCL logo, there is now a different logo. The Mickey head has been replaced by a ship. Is this a change or just something only on these new items?

I got off the dream a month or so ago and bough some stuff and didn't see anything different. A picture would definitely help. Thanks.

I don't know how I feel about that- it doesn't give me the Disney feels that the usual logo does.

No, it's on more stuff (the new stuff). And you notice it has the standard three waves that has always been in the logo. Hence I ask.

It says in the description that the DCL logo is "depicted in gold". It could be a case of the DisneyStore cast member not knowing any better. I agree it's not a good change if it is a change, nothing in it says "Disney".

AND I just now read the description for that mug and it says "The Disney Cruise Line's striking logo is depicted in gold".

That looks cool but I like the original one better.

I highly doubt it. Disney is shameless with its marketing. Nothing in that says Disney so unless it's the preemptive move to prepare to sell of the cruise line business, my guess is it's just a secondary logo / run of merch.

I don't recall seeing a lot of that on the Fantasy this past month. And I did buy a polo with the original logo (waves and Mickey head).

I took photos on the Fantasy last month wondering the same thing. I don't like this one but, for people who don't like splashing Mickey all over themselves, I can see the appeal.

I actually emailed Scott from the DCL blog when I got back to see if he thought they were changing and he indicated he doubted it. Then again I doubt any of us will really know until it happens if it happens.

Note that the label still has the DCL Mickey head logo. Maybe it's a secondary mark and not a logo change.

That was my thought. Maybe they'll keep both.
