I was going to go ahead & make our room-only reservations for CSR for the above mentioned week & then change it to a package when the 2008 rates come out, and GUESS WHAT??!! NO ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR THAT WEEK!:sad2: I hadn't figured on there being a problem this early-that is still just a little less than 10 months away. Would they be holding that many rooms for a convention? That is the only thing I can think of-that week is not Easter week & it is a little late to be a Spring Break week. I was wondering if more availability will open up after the 2008 packages are released. Should I keep trying to get availability at CSR or should I just go with another resort instead? Any & all opinions welcome!! TIA!

That's spring break week for my kids here in upstate NY. They have a week off in February and since Easter is so early next year they don't have the week off after it. Most of the school districts up here do the same thing.

That is most likely the case. Conventions reserve large blocks of rooms, then cancel the ones not needed. Since you were waiting for the package, just check back every so often. If the package comes out, book for your 2nd choice resort, as you can always change over if a room comes open. You may also want to try calling, as sometimes there are rooms available that do not show up online.

It's a great time of year to be in WDW. Spring breaks too. Easter is in March in 2008. I would keep trying though. Conventions will release unused rooms back after the "book by" date.

How did you try to book it? Online? TA?

My Dreams agent checked for me & just out of curiosity I tried myself at the WDTC number-no luck either way. :sad1: DisneyWorld.com will not pull anything for 2008-not even room-only.

I just tried to reserve May 2-9 at Coronado Springs and that week was 100% booked as well. Unbelieveable.... Anyway, I did manage to get April 26 to May 3 though.

Edit: The CM did tell me that it was because of conventions. She was showing large blocks of rooms being held by different companies.

It is the week before Passover, and it is a popular week for spring break in the north, apparently. (All of my Yankee friends have spring break that week.) We booked April 5-12 and had no problem. I wonder if there is a big convention - it seems pretty early for the average non-DISer to book the vacation since rates aren't even out yet.

We booked since we only need room-only, and I wondered if it might be more crowded than usual since the CBR main pool is supposed to be closed in the spring and that doesn't leave that many moderate rooms if you want a cool pool.

I hope you can get a room at the CSR. With all those 'suits' going to meetings the pool and park buses will be empty :rotfl:

I was at CSR this past April for a conference that same week. It was completely ful and there were a number of conferences at CSR as well as the Swan/Dolphin ( where CSR people were being shuttled). It is a popular time because of the weather and the Flower Show.Nancy

Great news! We'll keep it nice for you the week before your trip! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure , but everytime I used to talk about CSR in the past people used to say "really I never heard alot about that one?" I think it has become more popular, the mod resort with a "delux feel" just my opinion?:confused3 :goodvibes

Hey fellow Plainsman!!! :thumbsup2 We are in CP too!!! My DD goes to Karigon at Shen.

Yes that is spring break here in our area as Tiggerific noted. All the schools in our area are "connected" through another educational agency, and all the schools take the holiday break weeks off at the time determined by that agency (BOCES).

My DB and SIL are going that week-are paying (get ready to lose it) $285 PER NIGHT for a family suite at All Stars.  SIL is a teacher, so that is one of the only times they can go. And DNiece will turn 4 that week so............

Not me. You couldn't pay me to go that week. Air fare is crazy scary too. We fly SWA usually at $69 one way per person. That week it will be easily triple that and you had better hope you don't miss your flight, as you more than likely will not get another one.

Good luck, OP. I would see if I could go a different week, as it may be very busy then. Perhaps a week or two later??

in all honsety, I really would not worry about it as of yet. It is just shy of a year away, this happens to most resort. I ahve seen it every year. I am sure something is going to open up! It always seems to!;)
