I didn't realize you could make an ADR before park opening. Is Crystal Palace the only one? Is it worth paying for the character breakfast to get a moment in an "empty" park? Thanks!
There is a "Donald's Safari" character breakfast at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. Also, there is a princess character breakfast (must if you have a child into Disney princesses!) in Norway at Epcot.

Some of the best photos you can get (IMO) are by attending the "poo" breakfast at CP. I have a photo of my family "alone" in front of the castle that is virtually impossible to get any other time. Love the feeling of the almost-empty park, but you're only allowed on Main St. (for CP) and to the castle (for CRT). Everywhere else will be roped off.
Most definitely worth it! Especially if you can get the really early times, like 8 or 8:05. Then not only do you get great pictures, but you can get to the area of rides you want before rope drop. There's a rope blocking off each area. Then you can ride the rides that will have the longest wait times later at the beginning of the day, and save time.
