I have the DDP for myself and my twin DD7's and i'm trying to decide to keep my ADR for lunch at CRT. I was told on here it's better to pay OOP then use 2 TS credits however I'm doing this trip on a budget and thats a lot of cash to spend on a lunch for just myself and girls.
My girls are kinda over the princess thing but I thought what a great surprise to go the castle for lunch.
What do you think? Is it that magical to eat in the Castle? Will I regret cancelling?

Thanks

I think it is really nice to go just once!!!
It is so beautiful inside and the ambience is perfect.

I do feel however the prices are ridiculous and if you are going on a extreme budget and plan on coming back in the near future...bag it.

However, if you don't plan on coming back soon, I would go for it. My kids still remember going in the castle. My dd now 17 still wants to go on our next trip. I have a hard time paying those $$ for such imo not so good food

"Worth it" is a relative phrase.

Getting the most out of your DDP? It may not be worth it.

The experience that your girls will have eating in the castle? Completely worth it.
I haven't actually done it, so I can't speak from experience. This is just from the info that I've gathered and my 6 yo DD's desire to eat there, in costume, and see Cinderella.

I understand the whole 2 TS credits issue, but I plan on just using the 2 TS credits for our CRT (and it is breakfast). I agree with you - it would be a lot of $$ out of pocket when we are already paying for the dining plan. And then you have to find time for 2 more TS meals. If you have only one 2 credit TS meal, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I would just use the 2 TS credits if that is what works for your family. I figure that we can just eat a CS meal, if we run out of TS and CS meals on the dining plan. Just understand that you aren't paying for just the food. You are paying for the experience. I ate there before it was CRT, when it was King Stefan's, and the food wasn't great and was overpriced then. If you aren't planning to visit WDW again any time soon, I would keep it.

Another option is to eat with the princesses in Norway.

If the choices are use 2 TS credits to go to CRT or not going to CRT, I would just use the 2 TS credits and go to CRT.

I think the whole experience of being in the castle is what will appeal to my girls, they say they are over princesses but you know how that is....not wanting to appear like babies but going crazy inside!

I didn't mean worth it the sense of getting the most out of our DDP, I meant was the whole Castle experience that magical to your children that it was a must do. I just didn't want to come out 2 credits down and feel well that wasn't all that...

thanks again

I can't speak for anyone else, but we all enjoyed our meal in the Castle. Even my DH was kind of a kid again walking into the Wonderful World of Disney. The Princesses immediately exploited their oversized star struck admirerer. He actually told Snow White that he had been reading about her all of his life after she placed her signature kiss on his cheek. Cinderella, along with her miniature look alike Kady hauled him over to the Christmas tree to pose as Prince Charming. It is a magical experience and if the girls get into the Disney thing when they are there it may very well be the highlight of the trip. It was for our crew, and we had originally planned the meal around our 4 YO DGD.

My friend and I took our DD's (a 4yo and a 5yo who are not really into the Princesses) to CRT during our Thanksgiving trip and we all had a nice time. The girls were sufficiently impressed with seeing the princesses and the fairy godmother and my friend and I got some very nice photos out of it. Yes, it does seem like a lot to use 2 TS's for it but since this was the first Disney trip for my friend and the 2 little girls (and my first time at CRT), it was worth it for us.

Having said that, we probably wouldn't do it again (unless the girls really wanted it) For a character meal, I like Chef Mickey or Crystal Palace better. But it was definitely worth doing once.

I decided to keep it, I just bought Prirate and Princess tickets for that night so it will be an all around Princess day! Tho I bet my girls will want to dress up as Prirates!

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the Pirate and Princess tickets? Thanks!

The Pirate and Princess Party is an After Hours event in MK.
Not sure of all the going ons, there is a thread for it somewhere on here. Just search it out. I called to make dinner ressies and the CM I talked to gave me the hard sell on it and I bought it hook line and sinker tho I am a sucker for anything Disney!!
