Is CRT still difficult to book?

I know that years ago this was a really tough ADR to get, but is it still? Do you have to book this over the phone? It seems like that is the case, but It is therefore hard to see availability.

As far as I know it is still pretty difficult to get. I've been struggling for the past month trying to get one.

Edit: To be fair I didn't start trying to book ADR's until about a month and a half from the date of our trip.

It isn't hard to get as long as you book 180 days out. If you wait even a day you may not get it. That being said, I've been able to get it under 30 days because people cancel. You can book it online though, just like everything else. You either pre-pay or use your dining plan to hold it.

Definitely book the day it opens up - I booked ours online for our upcoming trip and it was #3 on my list of "big" reservations I needed to get (right behind Crystal Palace pre-opening for a party of 9 and Be Our Guest for Dinner).

I think it's still somewhat hard to get, but not impossible. If it's not available at first, keep checking. We are going in September and while CRT wasn't on my list at 180 days, I decided about a week later that I wanted to do a CRT breakfast (although it wasn't a make or break ADR). At first nothing was available, then a few days later I found an opening for the day before I actually wanted. I took that day/time, but kept checking daily for my original day. After about a week of checking, I was able to get the exact day/time I wanted. So, if CRT is a must do and isn't available at first, be persistent in checking as you never know what will become available :).

My 180 day window opened up yesterday and couldn't get CRT, got everything else including 2 BOG (one pre park opening breakfast and dinner), which I thought was the hardest to get.

Going to check the site everyday now till I get it :)

Keep checking and don't give up. I just snagged at CRT breakfast on Monday for our 1st day at MK on this Saturday, just 5 days before our visit.

I looked everyday for 8 days at my 180 day market and I got a reservation but not for the meal or time I want. I got dinner at 8:05 and I want a breakfast. It probably depends on what days you are looking for. I can't bring myself to look now...will wait once it gets closer.

I'm checking all day at work every few minutes and I'm also using the TouringPlans reservation finder to help me run a search.

Being still 178 days out, I'm confident that I should be get a reservation... hopefully :)

someone else mentioned the touring plans reservation finder. I just find it annoying that disney does this--allows a 3rd party to profit off its reservations! I am not at that desperation stage yet, and I hope something will open up, but this 180 ADR, the 30 day FP reservations, etc. leave a bad magical feeling for this first time planner lol. Just going with the flow for this vacation appears to not be an option!

Haha, I better not mention how some other companies used to profit more greedily from ADR than touring plans. I find touring plans is pretty fair in terms of what they charge, the reservation finder is just one of their tools they offer.

But I can understand the other side of the argument of why some people are "allowed" to pay for something to gain an "unfair" advantage over others

Yeah, the 180 day ADR, 60 day FP+, and others can be intense, especially if you want to get to do the stuff you want to do. I'm also a first timer, but I'm like a super planner, so this Disney vacation planning is like heaven to me lol, I can planned to the nth degree, now I wish that I can plan like this for all the other vacations I take haha

I was able to use the touring plans reservation finder without paying the annual fee. You can use it if you just sign up for a free account. That said, I got my CRT ressie by using touring plans but snagged the BOG dinner before TP even noticed it was open.

How do you get a CRT ressie online? Everywhere I look it says call? And how often would you call to try and get one for a trip in the beginning of Oct?

Are you using the MDE app? Try using the website. The app always says "Call to book"

But nearly all slots are booked out already for early Oct anyway, once in a while a cancellation pops up
