I'm having a hard time with ADR's (my husband puts some restrictions). I really want to try CP so I got 11:50 lunch reservation for our first full day at park (morning EMH) so we'll have been there almost 4 hours. Then we have 1900 at GF for 6:20 pm that night. I think we'll be okay - any thoughts?

Just my opinion, but I think it would be tough to eat at two buffets six 1/2 hours apart. Maybe you could do CP for breakfast or make your ADR for 1900 later.

You should be okay. We're doing CP for breakfast (8:05) and 1900 for dinner (5:30) with a light snack in between.

ETA- we did CM for breakfast (8:30 or 9:00) and did CP for an early dinner (4 something) and were fine.

I am thinking cereal bars for quick b-fast that morning in room...we'll be hungry by lunch. Then a quick snack late afternoon to hold kids over.
I may try to change ADR for CP to the night before (our first night there), my husband might have a cow though! He doens't like schedules so these ADR's don't agree with his philosophy. But with 3 kids I need ADR's I couldn't take the chance of not having a table or having to eat at 8pm LOL.
He'll have to get over it! :thumbsup2

I think you will be OK.
We have a ADR at CP at 8:05 and then an ADR at LLT at 5:15pm.

We have done that before and never had a problem. We don't eat to "pig out" at buffets. We just eat until we are full (comfortable) and then hit the parks. Usually by dinner time we are hungry again.

We did it last year for dd's birthday, same way. Lunch at CP and Dinner at 1900. We had no problem and had a great time!

We did those exact same buffets on the same day on our last trip. Our CP ressie was the last breakfast seating, 10 or 10:30. Then, our 1900PF ressie was for 5 or 5:30. Even with all of the walking, and no afternoon snacking, my DH asked me not to schedule two buffets for the same day anymore. We were stuffed!

We have done the same thing (same places, almost the same times). We also did the breakfast bars in the a.m. With all the exercise you'll get, you should be fine. Especially since CP has so many salad items and you can go fairly light (peel-n-eat shrimp, roasted veggies, salad, tomatoes & mozzerella, salmon, etc.) and not be stuffed-full, yet still feel you got a great meal. Then you can have whatever you want at 1900 (pastas, desserts, etc.)

Oh, we did skip snacks that day (couldn't have had them if we'd tried)!

I think you will burn off the first buffet running around the park....we have not done the 2 buffets in one day deal but we are trying for it this December.

If you eat wisely, and don't overstuff, you should be okay. My dd is celebrating her 13th birthday at WDW this Oct. She really wanted to start the day with Tigger at CP for breakfast, and HDDR for dinner. And I wanted her to have a 'special' lunch with cake....So, we have CP at 9:30, GF Cafe for light lunch at 1:45 and late HDDR show at 9:30. Good thin we leave the following day....we'll be too full to do too much more than fly home!!!

We are donig the opposite. We are doing 1900 for breakfast @930 and then CP for dinner about 5 on the day we do MNSSHP. We won't eat lunch in between but may have a snack or split a CS 3 ways. It is our off day and we won't be in the park until dinner time so that will help us not eat inbetween. (I hope)

We did 2 character meal buffets on the same day twice last August and never will again. Not only were we not truly hungry for our dinner, we also did not use our CS credits at lunch and ended up with 6 extra (after using some for breakfast on other days) to try and use the last day of our trip in addition to that day's credits. We also were in the restaurants a good 3 hours on those 2 buffet days and felt (after the fact) we would rather have been riding rides while the crowds were at their lowest in the morning.

You all make such great points in various directions.

? can you book CP for two different times. Say I booked it for our first night and it just didn't work for kids (after early AM/plane ride) and we had to cancel...we'd have reservation for the next day. Is that allowed?

We're going for 13 days and have CP scheduled 3 times, CM is twice, 1900 park fair is twice, etc. As long as you aren't double booking for the same times/meals, it isn't a problem at all. Just be very clear when booking, when we called back to add the 3rd CP, the CM got confused and thought we were changing one of the ones already booked. She was very nice and we worked it out easily, but just a word of caution to help from having any misunderstandings.
