I suppose there is a REMOTE possibility that municipal water supplies could be compromised by a malfunction and if enough workers were sick at the same time, there could be a disruption. I posted this on one of the threads somewhere. We operate very leanly in our City, with a total of 5 employees operating our water AND sewer system, for a town of 12K people. Now, it's mainly self-operating, but tests are required for health and safety of water, and there are always alarms going off which must be addressed, etc. If too many of those 5 were out at the same time, we could be in a real pickle pretty quickly. I actually raised this issue with our City, and it's causing us to work on contingency plans. It's a REMOTE possibility, not something that falls into the "likely" scenario. I am not stocking up on water.
