Is Copper Creek like Grand Californian?

Doing the whole DVC hotels tour as a relatively new owner and I’m putting BRV/CC on the back burner, along OKW and SSR bc there is always availability there. I may have an oppt to do CC but I lived in the Northwest and did Grand Cal already so tell me if you think CC should be on my Tour of DVC list because it is better than Grand Cal. I do want to visit but not sure if I’m going to sacrifice splitting up a 3 night streak at my home resort midtrip.

I feel like I would be wandering through forest and nature with CC so I am kind of saving it for a time where I just want to chill and not go to the parks for a few days. Seems like I wouldn’t want to rush it with a one night stay.

I live in the Rocky Mountains and have pretty low interest in WL and Grand Cal. I haven't stayed at Grand Cal before and would like to, but I don't find the themes of either to be interesting. And yes I find them pretty similar, but not mirrors or anything.

PNW resident here. My husband loves Grand Californian and we bought at Copper Creek. He loves the aesthetic of it. If you miss the PNW, go for it. It’s very similar to VGC. Not worth splitting a trip. Get a lunch reservation at Whispering Canyon and go walk around if you really want to see the resort. It’s beautiful at Christmas.

I would say go visit AKL instead it’s similar to grand call lobby in its grandness but you can stroll and see the savanna animals too. CCV is definitely similar to VGC, but I think grand cal is even nicer.

I never choose a hotel based on the ambience and architecture of the resort. I choose based on ease of getting to the parks.

My preference is BoardWalk/Beach Club so that I can walk to Epcot and walk around the BoardWalk area.

If I were taking people who wanted to spend most of the time at Magic Kingdom, I would choose BLT because you can walk from there. My second choice would be Grand Floridian because you can walk from there, although it is a longer walk. I tried Copper Creek; you can't walk anywhere from there (or from Boulder Ridge Villas) so without a car I felt stuck. Poly only has studios, so that doesn't work if you want a one-bedroom or two-bedroom.

I stayed at Jambo twice for animal-centric visits (doing all of the tours which are offered there and at Kidani); I would only stay there again or at Kidani if the group wanted to do that type of resort-specific trip. My feelings probably do have something to do with where I live. Other than the giraffes and zebras, most of the animals at Kidani feel like something I could see near where I live. There's a lot of antelopes, which feel similar to deer. Cows. Hogs. Birds. They didn't feel as exotic as I had expected.

It's not fast and easy to get to the parks from OKW and SSR, so I am not interested in them. And I have no interest in riding the Skyliner, so Riviera is out. I feel no need to try every resort.

Just thought I would offer a different perspective.

lol!
I’m totally doing that on my tour! I’m doing BLT and GF when I go to MK. And staying at BW, RIV and BC when hitting the right parks and AK when I go to AK. No worries- I got that.

i definitely want to see all of them at the start of my DVC adventures because that’s me.

Oh and no rush to Poly bc I’ve visited and own at AUL (and BW.) It’s just that I was so curious about CC after my recent trip to GCV.
