Is Chef Mickey's doable without an ECV?

Friends of mine are heading off to WDW but have scheduled Chef Mickey's on their arrival day while the grandmother's rented ECV doesn't arrive until the next morning. They are worried about the grandmother being able to go to dinner with them. She can do about 20 steps at a time but must rest after that. So my questions are..

1)Does anyone know how much walking is involved if they drop the grandmother at the front lobby?
2)I only remember washrooms downstairs? Surely there must be washrooms on the same floor?
3) Another family member can go pick out her meal at the buffet right?

Thanks

Where are they staying? Most WDW hotels have at least one wheelchair that they can loan to guests for a few hours.
That way grandma can go to Chef Mickey's and enjoy herself. We went in January with my Mom in her wheelchair and my DBFF on her ECV.
It is a long walk from the lobby and she might have problems.

Hi, the restrooms are as you said in the lobby area.
The ones in Chef Mickeys restaurant, are down a flight of stairs.
Although I think there is a disabled restroom, on the restaurant level.

Do any of the Disney hotels have any wheelchairs people could use for transfers? :confused3
In the uk at venues and large hotels, we have wheelchairs, people can borrow for a short period of time.

The grandmother would have to do the journey in stages, each stage would be approx 20 steps.
1-When you're dropped off at the lobby, there some seating approx 20 steps through the doors.
2-seating to elevator
3-elevator to seating around the corner (im sure theres a bench there)
4-seating to check in area. This may be a bit more than 20 steps (could sit down in contempo cafe to rest)
5- check in to Chef Mickeys waiting area
6-waiting area to table.

Its fine to get food for other people, I do it for my disabled son.

You're welcome.
Sounds like they be able to borrow a wheelchair. :-)
