Is Chef Mickey's all that?

We've done both breakfast and dinner and liked both. Like others have said the character interaction is great. It is far better than both Tusker House and Crystal Palace where the characters are very rushed. At CM, they stop and interact. We did a late dinner last trip and the characters were amazing. As the restaurant started to empty out, they all came around a 2nd time. They played and danced w/ DD 18mos and my niece 4 yrs. We have pictures with multiple characters in it. I'd recommend doing a late breakfast, around 10:30. Go to MK for EMH and then come back for a late breakfast.

Have fun!

The dinner buffet is just nasty.
I think the cost for dinner is to expensive for the poor quality of food and we were there for Free Dining--and I still didn't thing it
was worth it--I can't imagine having to pay for that nasty food.

This is a very noisy restaurant.

Kids are allowed to touch things on the buffet and the whole restaurant was dirty whenever we ate there--that just made me loose my appetite.

There are several other better restaurants that you can meet Mickey.

We found Tusker house--Donalds Safari Breakfast and Ohanas Best Friends Breakfast to be sooooo Much Better in
a pleasent atmosphere, food quality and Charaters took there time when we ate at these.

We are staying at the BLT in November and figure this would be a great time for us to take our two DDs (3 and 1) to Chef Mickey's for the character breakfast. I have read that it is one of the best character meals. Is this true?

Well it's a breakfast buffet. If you like that ( and we do! ) then it's a good one in our opinion. My 17yo DS made a point of insisting we do this as he loved it that much when we went when he was 15.

I would highly recommend going to Chef Mickey's at least once if you never been there before.

Now my family and I have been there a few times for dinner and each time we thought it was very good, so I don't have any bad things to say about it.

We typically don't recommend Chef Mickey's because we prefer Garden Grill at EPCOT for outstanding character interaction, better food served family style (no juggling of buffet plates with little ones, and parents taking turns eating) and far quieter atmosphere. We still get Mickey, Chip/Dale and Pluto and it's way more relaxed for us. Also, we have three boys and two are "Disney adults" so we're a little pickier about where we spend the $30 per "Disney adult" for character meals!!

But I do think that Chef Mickey's is fun, and something everyone should try at least once. If OP is staying at BLT with two little ones who have never been to Chef Mickey's, I'd say absolutely give it a try!

It is going to be like everything else......some people love it others hate it. We went in October and it was o.k at the very best. With all the hype I thought I HAD to do it. There are so many other breakfasts that are much better. Ohana was amazing and Tusker House was too so don't get caught up in the CM hype.
