Is character meal the only way to see Cinderella

and the other princesses? My kids love the princesses and the villians. I really don't want ot do a character meal if I can avoid it.

No, the princesses are available in other areas, though you may have to wait or look around to find them. In MK, there is a room for princesses. I believe these change a bit. Ariel has her own spot. You can also find the princesses in Epcot (World Showcase). If you ask the CM's they can usually found out for you when/where a character will be out.

We saw Cindy, Ariel, Belle, and Snow White in the Hall of Fame tent in Toontown last week. We saw Jasmine, Mulan, Belle, Aurora, and Mary Poppins at Morocco, China, France, and the UK pavilions, respectively. Mary was also near the Carrousel in Fantasyland. Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter were in front of the Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland.

You can definitely find Princesses out and about- but you will have to wait in line for them. We had good luck with arriving right at 10am to Toontown- that is when they open the different character greeting rooms in the Hall of Fame tent. The lines can get looong later in the day, but we only waited about 5-10 mins when we got there right at 10.

TWo years ago we saw Cinderella outside of the Judge's Tent. She was taking pics with guests and when it was my DD"s turn she took notice that they were wearing dresses handmade in Ariel fabric. She posed for a quick pic with them and told them that there was someone inside that was waiting for them. She took them inside the tent and brought them to Ariel. At the time Ariel's Grotto was being refurbished and Ariel was moved into the Judge's tent. Ariel was there, Cinderella and Cinderella's mice. I know that Ariel is no longer there, she is back in her grotto. I am not sure if Cinderella is still there.
Mulan can be found in China
Jasime, Aladdin and the Genie can be found in Adventureland near the Flying Carpets.
Belle hosts a storytime on the side of the castle. YOu can find out the hours at guest services
Aurora can be found in England
Captain hook, Mr. Smee, Wendy and Peter Pan can be found towards the front of the MK.
I am sure other Dis's have more info that they can provide.
Usually you can catch alot of characters at the MK right after the park opens.
I really have only seen the Villians in the parades. I think during the Halloween parties you will find more of the Villians.

For us, character meals are very much worth it. You can get the most character for your time. It beats waiting in a line for an hour and a half. BUT you can see Cinderella in the Judge's tent (princess line of course).

The judges tent is a terrific place to meet the princesses and once the villians were there too. Cinderella and her Prince were posing for pictures outside one of the countries in Epcot. France? Belle and the Beast were definitely outside France and we saw Princess Aurora in her pink gown there too.

Cinderella appears regularly at Toontown Hall of Fame. Not sure she's guaranteed, but she's always been there when I've been there. Other princesses (Snow White, Aurora, Belle, etc.) show up too, but it depends on the day who is there. I've also seen Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother in France, but I don't know who much they are there.

Belle and Aurora are regularly in Fantasyland at MK and France at EPCOT. In Fantasyland, Belle appears in Fairytale Gardens (near the Enchanted Grove stand) after her Storytime, and Aurora appears with Prince Phillip after the "Let's Have A Ball" show near the Cinderella Fountain behind the castle. In France, I've seen them most often near the promenade near the edge of France and Morocco.

Jasmine can often be found in Morocco at EPCOT and in Adventureland near the Magic Carpets. Aladdin and Genie are often there as well.

Snow White is usually in Germany at EPCOT, usually with Dopey. If she's not there, she's sometimes at International Gateway (especially during something like Food and Wine Festival when the area she is usually in for something else).

Ariel is usually at her Grotto at MK unless its closed or too cold. If this is the case, she's at Toontown Hall of Fame.

Pocahontas appears at Conservation Station at Rafiki's Planet Watch. You have to take the train fom Africa at AK to get there, but if you're looking for Pocahontas, it's definatly worth it). Sometimes she appears at MK either in Liberty Square or Adventureland during the summer.

Judges tent in in Toontown at MK. Inside there is three lines leading to different rooms each with different characters. There used to be posted signs to tell you who was where. I think the signs are still there.

This July DD and I were finally going to to and have B-fast with Mary at the GF, but now they are remolding it while we are there. I haven't heard if Mary will be at Citricos yet.

Where is the Judge's tent?

It's in ToonTown in Magic Kingdom. There are actually two "tents" in ToonTown. Neither are really tents, they are just buildings. I seen the term "Judge's Tent" used for both places, but they are seperate character meeting places. Cinderella can be found inside the "ToonTown Hall of Fame" building, which is also the County Bounty Gift Shop. Here's a picture of what it looks like:

When you enter this building, go to the right. There you will find three lines. Above each line are little pictures of characters that each line leads to. Cinderella is usually there, with one or two other princesses like Snow White or Aurora, or maybe Belle. Usually it's possible to wait in line for a good while until you get to the room with the princesses! They take people in groups into the rooms, so the line moves in leaps, instead of being a constantly moving line. Once in the room, you can meet the princesses all at once.

Also in ToonTown is the Judge's Tent, where Mickey meets. This is located behind Mickey's house. Only Mickey meets here, no other characters.

But if you want to meet Cinderella without a character meal, definitely go to the County Bounty/ToonTown Hall of Fame!!
