My DH and I are visiting MK on my birthday. We want to make an early PS at MK for breakfast. Is it possible to do this for an early sitting before park opening even though we will be staying off-site? Is character dining just for kids? :confused3 (Or is it just as suitable for "big Kids" !?

Also what restaurants in MK would you recommend for breakfast / lunch? We had lunch at RT last time and loved it!

We did Cape May Cafe for character breakfast in November. It was me (38), DBF (32) and DS (13). DS got bored and embarrassed, finished eating and waited for us in the lobby while we waited for the characters to finish coming around, taking pics, etc. So, yes...it's for big kids too.

We stayed off site and many times had Character breakfasts in the park before opening,it's a great way to get into the parks early if your not staying on site, you just phone DisneyDining to make your PS.the PS's we made were from 7.20am to 8.05am,so you do have to get up early to get there and get parked.
And in answer to your other question Yes its fine for adults(big kids) we have two DD's ,but we saw lots of couples and adults on there own having character meals :wizard:

Nope its not just for little kids, its for big kids, adult kids and kids at heart. You can book Crystal Palace with Pooh and Friends and get an early PS at the MK. You will need valid theme park ticket to enter

:cool1:

DW and I are big kids and enjoy the character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the GF. This would be a short monorail ride to MK.

Several years ago JudySue and I were at the Cape May Cafe for breakfast. I mentioned to one of the character handlers that Judy was in love with Dale. We were seated in one of the "semi-booths" (these are the ones you can access from either side).

All of a sudden all four characters showed up at the table. Dale got down on bended knee and held Judy's hand. Chip opened up a napkin and in it were two "Chipmonk-size wedding bands", really white napkin rings. Then Dale stood up and Goofy conducted a wedding ceremony with Pluto as a witness. Goofy did write a note that people were allowed to be married to one of each species, with the marraige only valid at Disney World.

A fun time was had by all, and those nearby applauded the ceremony and later congratulated Judy on her marriage. I was taking pictures. At the time this happened Judy was in her mid-50s.

Heh, heh, heh...NO! We LOVE our character meals... we just want one with STITCH!!!!

Not just for kids, no way! DH and I are blissfully childfree and our Crystal Palace brekkie with Pooh and friends was a highlight of our trip. Can't wait to do it again! :wizard:

They are a must for both DH and me and we are 43. DH loves the food at 1900 Park Fare for diner as well. I like Chef Mickey's and this year will also be adding the Ohana Character breakfast to the plan. Would Stich be safe near all that food? :earseek:

I would recommend Crystal Palace for all ages. You can get a PS for as early as 8:05.

I think it depends on you. I would never waste my money on a character meal with no kids. They are just people in costumes......

However, many adults seem to enjoy them. So, if you like the characters, you would probably enjoy a character meal.

Thanks so much for all your replies! DH and I are now really looking forward to our very first character dining experience! :flower3: :) Now all we have to do is decide between RT and CP!

I personally wouldn't pay the extra for a character meal without my kids. It's fun, but the magic is in the kids seeing these characters come to life. Otherwise, it's just some sweaty dude in a costume. Also, you'll have a half a dozen crying kids around you. Now, I *would* recommend going to the castle for a nice, romantic dinner or any of the other nice resturants in MK or Epcot. In Epcot, you can have some very romantic, yet Disney-fied meals.

Step :earsboy: :earsboy:

Everyone is a kid at WDW!

DH and I did the Garden Grill Character Meal on a whim during our honeymoon trip to WDW. The characters were more than attentive, but I was not as comfortable with them as I am now.

We have done Breakfastasaurus twice, once with my little nephew, second time with just three "big kids" and had a blast both times. Having a Pal Mickey really breaks the ice. Donald tried to cover him up in photos and Mickey embraced him like a long-lost son.

I plan on eating at Character Meals when dh and I start going on childless WDW trips, like in another 15 years. ;)

I'm offering another vote for Crystal Palace Breakfast... as early as possible. :flower:

DH and I -- a couple of kid-free 34-year-olds -- MUST have a breakfast at the Crystal Palace each trip. SkipperBubba pirate: is a big fan of the Hundred-Acre Wood Gang (OK, except for Piglet), and cherishes his face time with Eeyore. Then there's the little matter of our ongoing love affair with the puffed French toast... sigh. :cloud9: Go for it.
Cheers,
Q
