Hi everyone! My family and I ate at Cap'n Jack's back in 2006 and we loved it! I was been reading the board and looking at the reviews and noticed that it doesn't seem to be what it was then:sad2: I am looking for some place to go and have an early lunch the day my brother leaves, we will still be staying a couple more days...my question is...is it really that bad??? Any thoughts on where else we could go on his last day?:confused3 Thanks for your help.

A couple of years ago when we ate there we loved it also. At that time there were lots of crabby posts about it, but we really enjoyed it. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again. I have read wonderful posts about RR, but our experience was lousy there. So I guess there is a lot of times it depends on a particular day or even waitress. If you enjoyed it before, go for it.

Most of the posts written after 2006 suggest that CJ's is much improved; maybe the joint got a new chef. Our experiences were much less than average. During our early 2004 dinner our server actually told us to "stick with appetizers tonight."

It's a shame. Captain Jack's is the only original Walt Disney World Village Marketplace restaurant to make it to the new age. It deserves better.

I was there for lunch a few years ago and it was very good, as I recall, but I think I only had a caesar salad. I recall the waitress was very friendly and attentive. So it was a positive experience. I don't recall there being a lot of kids there. This was in mid-September.

thanks everyone. we really enjoyed our meal when we were there. i think we ate there three different times and except for having to wait a little longer one night everything was great. i know the menu has changed, but it was so much more than that...so i think it will be a nice way to send my brother back home....

I tried to eat there twice but was overcome with the smell of mold. It is very musty. I got an immediate asthma attack last month just trying to see the inside of it. We ate there 14 years ago when it was chef mickeys! Twice in the past year I've tried to enter no idea on the food.

I ate at Cap'n'Jacks one night because we had no dining plans, and they could seat us! We loved our meal, everything was great. We went back the following year and loved it just as much!! I honestly was so surprised by how much i like this restaurant. I have had two wonderful meals there, and at one of Disney's most hyped up restaurant, Le Cellier, i had two TERRIBLE meals. Just goes to show you anything can happen! lol I Highly recommend !

Ut oh. We were there in 07 and it was fine. My husbands favorite was the spinach and articoke dip..

It was also the first place we made reservations. Yikes!
