Is Cape May worth the cost?

We will not be doing the dining plan as I had originally thought. Do you think Cape May is worth the cost for dinner? I know breakfast is cheaper, but my kids are not big breakfast eaters. I'm just trying to figure out if CM is worth paying OOP for. Anything special about it other than it has crab legs? Thanks!

We just did Cape May for the first time a few days ago. We thought it was very good. In general, it is your typical WDW buffet but heavier on the seafood items. I have to be honest, I was a bit worried about crab legs and a seafood buffet at WDW - I don't think "high-quality" seafood when I think of WDW. I was afraid things were going to have that yucky fishy taste that happens when someplace doesn't know how to prepare seafood well. We were pleasantly surprised. I was also surprised by how good the non-seafood items were. They had two different kinds of pasta when we went and they were both so yummy. We would definitely do Cape May again - with that said I don't know if we would go out of our way to travel to the BC to go there, just because traveling to other resorts can be time consuming. If we are staying at BC however, it will be on our must do list.

Really like the beach club, think it's good quality and nice atmosphere. BUT we stay at the BC so it's good and convenient - I don't think I would make a special trip for it.

I would say that that the seafood buffet is not exceptional. I like the character breakfast there but i wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Character breakfast I would recommend are Park Fare, Tusker House and Garden Grill...just my take.

My kids aren't big breakfast eaters, so we won't be making any ADRs for breakfast.

Ok...I wouldn't go buffet for dinner then...honestly: I'd suggest kona cafe, whispering canyon, or Sanaa then...for that "middle" kinda price range.

I would love to check out the resort as I have never even been to the Boardwalk area. Maybe I'll try to get reservations at Beaches and Cream instead and save some money.

Can't go wrong there...I've always liked it.

Another option: the Crews Cup Lounge in Yacht Club is my favorite bar in the whole property and they have a better menu (i.e. Yachtsmans stuff) than anywhere else at this point.

Thanks, I'll check them out. Do they allow kids? I'm a single mom of two teenage boys, so I have to find something we all will like.

Of course...

...they might card them, though ;)

(I kid...there's kids all over the bars...comes with the territory...Florida law is no kids AT the bar...tables are fine)

We have paid OOP at Cape May and weren't disappointed. Admittedly things have gotten much more expensive for meals since we did this.
