Hi, I am trying to decide on our last meal for the dining plan. So far, we have Liberty Tree character meal, Epcot Norway princess meal, Narcoosee's, Hollywood and Vine, and CapNJacks. I plan to cancel CapNJacks, menu just doesn't look that good. I wondered if Cape May Clam Bake buffet for dinner is good. (don't really want another character meal unless we have to). Thanks!

We enjoyed Cape May Cafe for dinner the first time we ate there--it was really good); the second time we didn't think it was as good, but it was still better than a lot of others we had gone to. Would we go back again? Yes, but we would go earlier than we did to be there closer to when it first opens. I can't comment on Captain Jack's as we have never been there. Personally, we don't like H&V at all and it is one of two restaurants we will never go back to.

We have always had good meals at Cape May Cafe Clambake (and the character breakfast too) :thumbsup2

If you haven't seen the menu:
New England Style Clam Bake & All American Adult Dinner Buffet - All American Buffet and New England Style Clambake featuring steamed clams, mussels, corn-on-the-cob, potatoes, chicken, fresh vegetables and BBQ Ribs. Salad bar and Dessert selection also included. Served nightly from 5:30pm - 9:30pm - $30.99 *

My kids don't/won't eat seafood, but they find plenty of food to eat. There's a kids buffet, and lot's of non-seafood items. Clams & mussels are very good, make sure to try the clam chowder. There are 2 dessert areas, one on the main buffet and don't miss the one behind the hostess stand, that's where the oreo bon-bons are

We have been there three times, the first time it was amazing, the second time it was good and the third time it was blech. BUT we went at 5:30 right when they opened and were hanging out in the lobby at 5pm and watched them set up 30 minutes before they opened so it was no wonder the food was cold, dried out etc when we got it.

That being said we are going back next month but I have a 7pm ressie. DH is a sucker for the littlenecks, I love the ribs and we both love the roasted chicken and the large salad bar with all the specialty cold salads....plus this is the only place you can get the Oreo Bon Bons and they are awesome!

We have always had a great meal at the Cape may. I Hope you enjoy some of my photos!:thumbsup2

We went for dinner 2 years ago and I didn't really care for it. I mean it wasn't horrible but I've eaten at much better places in Disney. Maybe it's better now because the photos above look good but we won't be going back...just remember everyone has a different opinion and you may end up loving it if you want to give it a chance.

I was there in May and I am a hard core Foodie. The meal was good, but not great except for a few standouts such as the citrus salad and the entire dessert able. Service was very good. I'll be back, but I'll visit some other places first.

I went in Sept for dinner and it was the worst meal I had in the world.
The clam chowder was so salty it was inedible ( others at the table liked it so maybe I am just used to the New englan chowder we get around here). The food choices were blah (no fried clams)and desserts were just so so. Honestly everyone has thier own opinions but I will not be returning to Cape May. Just not my cup of tea.:goodvibes

we were there last november - long wait despite having adrs -- food was decent and we were glad we tried it but probably won't go back for a few years - we like the buffet at biergarten (plus the music is fun) or boma (and strolling around the beautiful hotel and going outside on the deck to see the animals and enjoy the firepit)....

good luck in your decision!

We loved it last year and will be going there the first night we arrive this year. It is GREAT!!!:thumbsup2

We have eaten there twice and enjoyed it both times although we all agreed it was better the second time (August 2008). The ribs are the best I had at WDW last trip. Okay, okay, so it was the only place I had ribs.:rotfl2:

That said, it is not on our list of restaurants we cannot miss and we will probably skip it next trip (maybe once very two years is enough).

I ate there on our first night of our trip last week.i went with no expectations since it always gets negative reviews. It ended up being the favorite meal of the whole trip.LOVED IT!
