Is California Grill worth 2TS now that you don't get the appetizer?

I am considering CG for dinner, but it doesn't look like it is a very good use of 2 credits anymore. We've never been there, so I can't really decide. :confused3

Looking at it from a Cost to Value Standpoint (not to mention that the view is worth $$ to some people:

Average Entree $30.13
Average Dessert $11.17 (Assuming the Cheese Plate is a DDP Option)
Beverage (approx) $3.00
Total Meal $44.30

"Value" per credit is $21.15

Broken down per day $21.15 TS Meal, $13.00 Average CS Meal, $3.00 Average Snack Credit Value. $37.15 total 'spent' per day and you pay $37.99.

Factor in tax in my average costs (that you'd have to pay OOP), and yes you can probably come out ahead using 2TS for California Grill

We ate there Saturday night 1/19/08. I thought without an appetizer or a first course it was NOT worth the 2 TS credits required. Nice view, great food but not 2 TS's worth. Just my opinion.

Because it is signature, your entree is smaller here--I think it depends on your eating habits/preferences but many will not walk away full after eating the entree and dessert so as a result may find that they felt it not worth 2 credits.

Oh well, I guess we should have gone last year. I guess we'll skip it.

I'm surprised the 2TS places don't continue to include an appetizer with DDP.

Not to me. None are worth 2 credits IMHO.

We didn't think it was worth 2TS when they did include appetizer. We paid OOP for it last year and will pay OOP for it this year. We love it, but won't give up 2TS for it! We just budget to pay for it.

The DxDDP includes an appetizer, which I think makes the plan worth it.

We're (DH and I) planning on going to CA Grill in May using the DPP. We have NO desire to have two desserts. If I smile and bat my eyes - do you think they might let me substitue one dessert for an appetizer? Provided they're about equal price?

1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert is what we usually do when we go out.

Initial reports are no, they allow absolutely no exceptions for anyone. Even diabetics who may have a medical reason.
