Is Cali Grill kid friendly?

Hello, I wanted to know some opinions on taking DD4 to Cali Grill with DH and I.....is it kid friendly, or would I be better off having her go to Neverland Club???? I really wanted to schedule our meal so we could see Wishes at 10 pm....I know DD4 would love that Thanks for any info

California Grill has a child's menu and certainly allows children.

You know your DD best. It's a 2 hour dining experience and 10pm is pretty late at night for most 4 year olds. But if you think that she'll enjoy it, won't get fussy/cranky because she's up, eating late, and expected to hold still and be somewhat quiet that late at night; then you should go for it!

If you think it might be too much for her then I'd look into the Neverland Club for her.

This is my boys fav restaurant. They have picked this for our Christmas Day meal which will be our 4th visit.

From my point of view, yes it is child friendly. I have certainly never felt out of place with my boys. We starting dining here when they were 6 and just 5(a few days before).

I would agree with the previous poster, only you know if your child can handle a meal that usually lasts around the 2 hour mark. My boys are used to it and their behaviour is impeccable when we are here. But then they know how to behave when we are dining out and regardless of where we are eating, even at Macdonalds, they know its not acceptable to be up and running around.

We have dined late before for Wishes at 10pm. The restaurant is definately a lot quieter at this time and we found it to be mainly adult diners. We actually prefer it when the restaurant has a bit of a bustle and noise, makes for a great atmosphere for us.

Can't wait for Christmas Day here. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we do.

DH and I were there in Oct for our 6th anniversary, DD4 was there as well. Our reservation was not quite as late as yours (8:30 or so), but I found CA Grill to be very kid friendly. They brought DD out a plate of goldfish crackers while we were waiting for our food, they had crayons and pages for her to color, our waiter brought her stickers. I don't know what the other waiters are like as this was our first time there, but he went out of his way to make sure she was having a nice time...calling her princess, talking about how well behaved she was (you know, the typical Disney magical stuff).

I would think each parent knows best in this regard. I don't think anyone will be upset if there are children in the restaraunt with you, but it's no Chucky Cheese/Mc Donalds... Meaning.. .unless you go at fireworks time I imagine the children might get a little bored.

Me and my gf went to the CG for the first time a few trips ago. We don't eat at Disney CS restaraunts very often and this was our big expensive dinner for this trip. The atmosphere was nice, but there was a family seated at a table nearby. The mom seemed very overwhelmed with the little ones who seemed to be quite bored. Well the kids were cute, but not very well behaved and not before long the youngest daughter Im guessing 4 and son 5/6. Were running around the restaraunt! They kept going to the window and squeezing behind other peoples tables. The mother kept "asking" them to come back to the table and sit down. The kids really paid her no attention. Then it got really out of hand and the kids were crawling on th floor going under other people's tables!!!

I mean seriously! I understand kids can be a handful, but I think that going to CG was the wrong choice for this family. I mean I wasn't angry at anyone just more annoyed and it killed the whole atmosphere of the place and made dinner rather uncomfortable. I felt bad for the mother as she was with several other adults who were giving her no help with the kids, but I think if you have kids that are wild like these (and every child is different you know them better than anyone else) you should avoid places like the California Grill, Narcosse, Artist Point which are rather expensive as well as atmoshperic as a form of respect to the other patrons and also probably in the best interest of your children.
