It's definitely got a touch of a butterscotch flavor or something that sets it ever-so-slightly apart from cream soda. But yes, it's basically a cream soda.
Butterbeer, as others have said, is non-alcoholic. The kids in the movies drank it in Hogsmeade, and thankful my DD can drink it when we go there too. DH and I really enjoy the Hog's Head Amber in the Hog's Head bar! That one DD isn's going to be drinking anytime soon.
I agree with both of these. I loved the frozen butterbeer (the regular not so much). I don't like the taste of beer and agree that the pumpkin juice was the nastiest stuff I ever tasted. I love pumpkin, so thought I'd love the pumpkin juice at the Three Broomsticks. Boy was I wrong. That stuff was just plain nasty.
We'll be back to Universal in about two weeks, so I get another frozen butterbeer and my husband gets his Hogs Head Ale that he likes. The pumpkin juice they can keep.
Thank you to everyone for the info! I LOVE cream soda so I will definitely be trying a butter beer (and glad to know the kids can too) but DH is dissappointed to hear it's not "real beer" so thank for the tip about the Hogs Head!
be there in 4 days.....
