How busy is Buffalo Security at 5:30 a.m. on a Monday (non holiday) day?

I have a 6:25 a.m. flight, and SW will not open for checking baggage until 5:00 a.m. We will have enough time arriving at 5:00 a.m. ?

You should be ok if you get there right around 5am when the airport opens. Sometimes Monday's can be a bit busy with the commuter flights, but I think I've seen it busier closer to 5:45 -6am.

Hope this helps!

The lines move reasonably fast since they took out Burger King and security took over that space. It used to be that many people would miss those early am flights due to security, but since security has doubled its space, the lines move right along. Maybe 10 or 15 minutes to get through instead of over an hour.....

I have found that it is hit and miss. You can go to the airport at any time of the week and have no lines, and go back the following week(same day/time) and have it be a mad house. I'd plan on being there two hours prior to flight departure regardless of day/time.

The anxiety of flying on a plane is nothing compared to being caught in a long line at the check-in counter or security.

[edited]Ooops...If SW does not open their check-in counters prior to 500 and you need to check bags, it doesn't make any sense to get to the airport two hours early, which in this case would be around 425.

I'm the arrive 3 hours before flight type, but with SW not opening until 5:00 a.m. it wouldn't do me any good. I feel if SW has a 6:25 a.m. flight departure you should be able to check luggage as early as 4:25 a.m. I don't think I will book a 6:25 a.m. departure again with SW.

In May we flew Jet Blue and we left at 7:30 a.m. and we had no issues with bag check or security.
