Is Breakfast at BOG worth it?

I haven't been to MK in decades and certainly don't remember anything about the restaurants/food. I've read that BOG breakfast/lunch is just a glorified cafeteria experience and not incredibly special. BOG breakfast is the only ADR I've been able to book for our trip in a week and a half. I almost booked Wishes Dessert party but felt the pricing was outrageous for just a dessert. Now I am feeling like BOG Breakfast is going to be very pricey for what it is. Is the experience, atmosphere and food worth it? Or am I better off getting complimentary breakfast at my hotel before I head to the parks?

I've never been to BOG for breakfast but I have been for lunch and I don't feel like it's a glorified cafeteria. The restaurant is gorgeous! BOG is one of my favorite places to eat at WDW. It might be better to try to get a lunch or dinner reservation and enjoy the free breakfast your hotel provides. Last minute Cancellations happen frequently so you might be able to get a reservation for lunch or dinner. :-)

BOG breakfast is definitely worth it! The theming is amazing and the food is wonderful! It is cool how you can sit wherever you want and they bring out your food in service carts. You really feel like you are in the movie. Most definitely worth it. :)

I have never been there for Breakfast, but I have been there for dinner. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning! That being said I don't think I would ever eat breakfast there. It is considered quick service for breakfast and I think the prices are just outrageous...how can they charge $25 for an egg sandwich, lol...I think though that they are able to charge those prices because people will keep paying it because they want to see the restaurant. Like I said restaurant is absolutely gorgeous but those prices are not, LOL...although if you have never eaten at BOG and really wanted to see the restaurant and you are only able to get a breakfast reservation there then I do think it might be worth it just to see the place 1 time.

I'll be the contrarian: No, breakfast isn't "worth" it, depending on how you measure worth.

The castle is nice, but you will be filling your own drink, and trying to find a table. People wander around and take pictures while you eat. The pastries they serve with breakfast are the equivalent of freshly-defrosted Sam's Club pastries you would find at a Lutheran church breakfast.

Most people who are all excited about BOG for breakfast justify it either because they get a Pre-Park Opening and justify the cost as the price of getting into the queue for Seven Dwarves before the masses, or "it's a good value on the Disney Dining Plan!" (Which is because it's terribly overpriced!)

You aren't really paying for food or atmosphere at breakfast. You're paying for hype.

Unless I was on the DDP and using a CS credit, I would never do BOG breakfast. The price is unreasonable for what you get, IMHO

The prices are crazy for what you get at breakfast. If you're willing to spend that, then go for it. It's a fun experience. We have enjoyed it.

As someone who has done BOG lunch, which was fine (I don't like the bread that accompanied my Croque Monsieur and I didn't know I could substitute it--first time at the Parks), the castle is stunning. It's beautiful; truly. However, I booked a dinner ADR instead of the breakfast simply because I was not willing to pay for a $24 scrambled egg or a sandwich. No thanks. I'd rather pay a little more at dinner and meet Beast and get character interaction in a table service setting.

We done breakfast 2 Times and lunch 2 Times. The breakfast is cold, my eggs were hard boiled 2 Times (i like my egg yolk runny). The lunch however Was fantastic!

Thank you everyone! This is exactly what I wanted to read. I'm hoping to get a last minute CRT breakfast but if all else fails I may just keep the BOG because it'll get us into the park at the same time as the EMH crowd that day.

If you are paying out of pocket for BOG at breakfast, IMO I would call it one of the biggest rip-offs found in WDW. Paying $24 for a fried doughnut with whip cream on it or $24 for a breakfast sandwich or $24 for egg whites is pretty steep, even with the frozen pastries on a tray that come with it. And let's not forget paying $14 for a bowl of Fruit Loops or oatmeal. At that price I'll pass on seeing the décor of BOG or Main Street fairly empty and I'll pass trying to be the first one in line at 7DMT so I can take a selfie (no sticks, their banned) and brag on FB. But there are some who will say this is an incredible value and they would have no problem at all paying twice the price... Oh the power of Pixie Dust. LOL

Eat at your hotel and save your money for something better later in the day.

for a few bucks more ($6) you can have an all you care to eat character dining experience rather than a smallish portion of what is often reported to be cold food and self serve beverages. I would say if you were on DDP it would be worth the QS credit but to pay out of pocket that much... I wouldn't.

It's very expensive by QS standards - we're planning on it one day for the Dining Plan, so we'll come out ahead, but if I was paying out of pocket - no way.

Its worth it! I really like the food and the surroundings. You don't have to order a meal for each person if you don't want that much food and you can even order a kid's meal for an adult which is cheaper.

Don't forget that an adult can order a child's meal and you still get the full pastry tray. That's what I did. And yes- the pastries are DisEntemman's.

Nope, breakfast is not worth it. Unless you are a huge Beauty and the Beast fan and just HAVE to see the inside of the castle and breakfast is the only ADR you could snag. We don't do the dining plan so it's even more not worth it for us since we pay OOP. Even if I did do the dining plan, I'd still skip it. I'd rather have a chocolate fruit waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hollow!

I seem to be in the minority here but we loved our BOG breakfast! We had free dining and a pre park opening ADR so that may have helped add to the magic but we thoroughly enjoyed our food. It was hot and delicious and we left full.
