Is booking package with Universal provide any savings?

Hello,

Next summer will be our first trip to Universal. I just booked our vacation with Universal but there did not seem to be any real savings to booking with them vs separately. Is it even worth it to book a package through Universal or is there a better place? Should I just book hotel only? Any feedback would be appreciated! I did not find a previous thread that discussed this topic, if there is one could you point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance to all!!!!!

Its always better to book everything separate.

We go every two years and I've never booked Universal as a package.

I always seem to get the best deal booking the room separately, maybe because the three hotels are affiliated with the Lowe's hotel chain somehow?

Anyway, this fall we got a pin code for the room, or we wouldn't be going as this is a non-vacation year.... We are planning on getting one Annual pass that will knock the ticket price down for all the other tickets this fall AND our regularly scheduled Dis / Universal vacation for next September (along with HHN 2012 tickets)

Definitely price it out both ways.

I did book once aan offsite partner hotel package... Though it was a few dollars more expensive to do so, I had the early admission perk as an onsite guest.... and well worth it.. IMHO...

..but after staying onsite last year... I've been spoiled...

I Just wanted to post here and say thank you for asking this question and for all those that responded as well. We are new dvc memebers and annual vacations are now possible verses every other year.

We will be visiting US/IOA on our trip next summer. We have visited the parks before, but I always wished we could get the Express passes.however they always work out so expensive. I vowed we would stay onsight next time for this reason alone.

I am trying to figure this all out now this post was very helpful...so thanks again
