Is booking eight months out even possible?

Whew! I'm glad I found this site! I think I'm going to learn a lot here...

I'm getting ready to make my first booking, but have run into a quandry. Long story short, I want to get the whole family and friends into a three bedroom Villa at Animal Kingdom November 1-8, 2008. Problem: I've got 200 points banked, (Need 541) can borrow newxt years, but just figured out that I wont be able to dip into my 2009 points until March. (Newbie!) SO, I either rent points now, or wait until March when I can borrow my 2009 points...What's the chance that I'm even going to be able to get that unit at that time eight months out?

I have no idea, so I'm hoping the experts might be able to give me some insight. Thanks so much in advance for the advice!

You should be able to book at the 11-month window. It doesn't matter if the points are available to borrow at the time of reservation. They only need to be able to be borrowed into the year that the reservation lies in. I have done this many times for reservations in May and my use year is February. Call 11-months out from the first day to verify. But you shouldn't have any problems.

Yes, and you better call immediately. Grand Villas are scarce and very often go right at the 11 month window and then to those calling day by day to reserve.

With March use year and Nov 08 trip -- points issued March 08 would be "current" points for that trip; points issued March 07 can be used if they have been banked; and points issued March 09 can be borrowed even if calling now.

also make sure they use the banked points first!
