Is Boma a good place to take the kids?

Since it is a African food buffet, do they have food for picky eaters? Our boys will be 8, 5, and 5 at the time of our trip. They aren't too fond of trying new things (foods) yet!

I have an extremely picky eater (hates mac and cheese for example) and we ate there last week and he had a decent dinner. There are children's items and lots of desserts. They had rotissere chicknen and prime rib. I'm picky too and I loved it!!!!!

They have a children's section on the buffet, chicken fingers, fries, pizza, mac and cheese...they even have PBJ (though they are usually down with the hummus and breads).

My DS (3) loves it.

Can your five year olds handle their own plates? I find buffets to be maddening with kids too young to handle their own plate. I spend too much time at the buffet getting food for everyone and not enough time eating. (Other people don't have this problem, but it is worth mentioning in case you've never done a buffet with kids and haven't thought through the logistics).

We loved Boma's (so did our 9,6,& 4 year olds). They have a child's buffet..my kids lived on chicken fingers & fries at Disney. There is something for everyone at Boma's.

Enjoy!!!

We have found the staff at Boma to be FANTASTIC with children! My 3 kids love dining there. I highly recommend it!!

I think anyone, even picky eaters, would be happy alone with the dessert selection! I love Boma's!

It's fine for kids, with the two caveats that apply to nearly all Disney buffets. As crisi mentioned you have to go through the line with children. And if you want your children to eat vegetables it is difficult as there are no "simple" veggies, just veggie dishes intended for sophisticated tastes.

The sweetpea tends to be more of a pickier eater at times. She was able to eat well here. She enjoyed the kids buffet a lot......mac & cheese, chicken fingers, spagehtti and meatballs. She also liked the chicken durban. She went nuts over the desserts though. Even though they have a kids area with things kids are used to, a lot of the other items didn't look to appealing to her. There is enough for them other than the African foods.

They also have chicken legs- just regualer rotisserie type chicken- I was picky as a little kid and that's something I would have definitly eaten.

Just wanted to say we went to lots of Buffets when our dd's were little (4 or 5) and they never had a problem managing by themselves.

They have been taught to be polite and the CM's were alwasy wonderful in carving them small amounts of meat.

That's why I asked if HER kids could handle their own plates. I'm happy for you that your kids could, but that won't do HER any good if her's can't.

Of course, she needs to access for her kids, but wanted to say that the CM's were helpful when my dd's were on their own.

Also, for us any inconvenience of a buffet with really little kids was more than overcome by:

1. No one having to wait to eat. Food avialable immediately.

2. No one had to worry about not liking what they tried. No worries when it was "but mommy I don't like this kind of mac and cheese". They could try something else.

3. Non-kids food available to small children who you might not order these things for. I mean I am not going to order Salmon for my 4 y.o. Might not like the sauce or something and then you are in trouble. But at Buffet could try it and often could end up with MUCH healthier meal.
