Is Atlantis worth the money?

We went snorkeling with Bahama Divers in Nassau. We had a really nice time. There is another hotel being built that may put some pressure on Atlantis to bring their prices to a more reasonable level. However, I don't know when the construction will be finished.

The Baha Mar which is slated to open in spring 2015.

I'm so thrilled that atlantis is now a Marriott autograph resort and can book stays on points!! Not great redemption values but not great cash valued at atlantis either lol.

We purchased the one nite stay at comfort suites and went to Atlantis during our Disney cruise. We really enjoyed our day there. Food items and drinks were expensive and staff expected a tip every time you were near them, they only took cash. We shared Fountain pops. We were glad we went.
I saw day passes were available to purchase when we went to Atlantis but there was a note that they could be sold out for the day when you arrive. Then what would you do? so we bought the night at comfort inn.
Later in the day we saw the dolphin excursion if we had went there first we probably could of purchase that event had we wanted.
The lazy river is really long and takes a long time to get around it and has branches off it that lead to other passes, slides, take can take A long time to get through the queue, so I would not let small children go on it without an adult. and the rapids can be quite rough. My sister saw an adult whack his head really hard on the rock wall during the rapids she really thinks he got a concussion. We also saw a parent with a small baby flip her tube in the rapids and frantically search the water for the baby. We were too far away to help at that point. The lady grabbed baby out flung them out onto another adult tube that was with her, she looked scared out of her wits.

My ex-DH and I went from our Disney Cruise we just walked around but were bored after away. We had some food there don't remember what specifically but remember that it was expensive!

Didn't know about it being a Marriott hotel now!

Thank you for all your responses. I really appreciate it! Right now I think we may just walk around the free sections and maybe hit a local restaurant for lunch.. we may do a cheaper excursion on our freeport bahamas day. I want to try snorkeling.
