Is Artist Point Worth the Try or Should we stick with Cali?

I am horrible but I have never in all of my trips ventured over to the wilderness lodge. Generally anything wild or camping related is not for me ( and I have 2 boys (oy!) This time my husband picked the hotel and WL it is.

We are having the parents night out and I made ADR's at Artist Point because it seems convenient and my DH love's him some Bison. However, here and on other sites I have read mixed reviews.

Should I stick with it or go to my favorite, dependable, delicious California Grill? I am on the fence...I am always up for new experiences but I just love the Cali so much and after reading the so-so reviews I just need some confidence in Artist Point.

Any encouragement is greatly appreciated!

Artist Point is excellent. Since you've eaten at CG before and you're already staying at Wilderness Lodge, Artist Point is a no brainer. You won't be disappointed.

I really like Artist's Point. I've had the buffalo and it was excellent.

But I love the california grill. If I had to pick one, I'd pick CG, but since you've never been to AP I really think it is worth trying.

Thanks so much. I think I will keep it. It will make it easier and maybe cheaper since we are getting an in-room sitter!

PS I love the name Gazerbeam...I love that movie!

I is always good to try new things and places.

We normally do California Grill but elected to try Artist Pointe since we did a spilt stay at the WL. While each individual has their own expectations we were underwhelmed. Maybe living and dining in the Rocky Mountain Region for a decade had a lot to do with it since we did not find anything special at Artist Pointe. If we were asked to select either CG or AP we would pick CG.

Since you've done CG several times, try AP. We like it better than CG b/c it tends to be quieter and less crowded. You can ask for a table by the window and have a very nice view of the courtyard area of the WL.
